landman
Continued working on the Y-block. Attempted to duplicate the wiring in the photo below but not so neat. Practised my paint over foil. This motor has a "floating" generator so I improvised a "bracket" using some leftover PE from the Mustang's set.
landman
Started scratchbuilding an engine leveler to put on the hoist I got from Scale Equipment. Turned the tire rack into some shelving. Who ever heard of a tire rack in an engine shop anyway? Edited November 13, 2020 by landman

landman
I've been buying piles of engines and parts for this. In there were this block and head. Painted them up and drilled out the exhaust ports in the head. Placed it on the shelf. Â Â Made a couple more engine stands and found the three wheeler in the bag of engine parts. Added another sign above the door. Used some square tubing and made the supports on the body dolly adjustable. landman
Well, it seems that while this is fine for a photo backdrop, the actual engine shop calls to be built. So today, I visited the shop who rebuilt my '34 Chevy's engine and asked them if I could take photos, sketches and measurements of their equipment. No sweat, he says. I'm going to try scratchbuilding them. I may need to beg Sir Richard Gelens for pointers & assistance. Here's a few of the machines: Â Â Now I don't want anyone holding their breath, as they may turn blue waiting. This is for later as I have a few other projects in the works. landman
Added more signs. Mostly engine rebuilders associations. Hung the new logo above the door. I wish I knew a graphic designer. Installed the newly received wheel dollies. those things are fully functional. The rollers roll, one set of casters swivel, You can adjust the width and that little pedal lever actually locks in it place.

landman
FTB has decided to offer pickup & delivery of the engines it rebuilds. So the boss found a 20 year old Dodge, gave it a paint job in the company colors, stuck his logo on the doors and voilà ! DeeCee
That is very well done, you picked a theme and stuck to it, and now it is paying off, great idea and build.

landman
Installed a hitch on the shop truck. Added a pair of heads to the top shelf and added a big block to the pallet. Â Â A Porsche 928 engine came into the shop. This was part of the large pile of junk engines I got on eBay. The whole upper rear was missing. The rear head caps were made out of a dragster engine plate, the upper half of the bell housing came from a junk engine. The rear cap was whittled out of a blower front and the splined shaft is from a watch part. Edited November 14, 2020 by landman

landman
This will be the site of the "shop" part of FTB. It scales out at 29 x 61 feet. Should be enough room for most if not all the tools with a bit left to display the odd WIP. Note the "modern" audio equipment.
landman
FTB added a heavier delivery truck to its fleet, a Dodge L-700. It was modified to accept the stake body & crane. As well it runs the V10 seen in earlier posts in this thread. In the top photo you can see that the sandpaper flooring is peeling. So the dio was dismantled and a new floor will be installed.
