The last thing I ever see before I "buy the farm", I hope, is the inside of a truck. I can only hope to be sittin somewhere with a view, away from the truck. I love what I do, but not that much. thejunkman Posted May 5, 2015 Share Posted May 5, 2015 I know that stretch of interstate well. Most of those pictures are on the West end of Colorado, from Grand Junction to Eagle. This is what it looks like to be on top of those mountains. If you could look straight down from the middle of this picture you would see that interstate where you took some of those pictures. This picture was taken at 13,000 feet with me and my friends dual sports. Way too many of us drivers have the truckers retirement. Most farmers would say the same thing. Here is what farmers see, unlike trucking, farmers see the same thing year after year. I do ponder that my great great grandfather was looking at the same view only from behind a horse sitting on a 1 bottom plow. Much why I work hard so I can play hard. If you look closely you can see the tornado funnel coming out of the clouds. Hwy 49 near Reno. Near Weed, CA, Mt Shasta in the distance I think of my engine as a big truck until I park next to the real big trucks... Based on some of the other photos on here, I'm not the only one who gets to see some spectacular scenery as part of the job. I spent the last two weeks working logistics for several fires here at home. We were getting shipments of supplies in nearly every day and I think you have some idea how that stuff gets around, so thank you for what you do as well.
