Chris, it could be that I just missed the "Tin Men" answer, but if someone DID say that, they were spot-on!

(Notice that I DIDN'T post any of the three Corvairs in the movie, including 2 that were kinda prominent... Just sayin'! :P)

Doesn't Richard Rollins own that today? I think this is the same car from Fast and Loud

Good question. Being an old fuddy (still livin' in the late '70s) duddy who doesn't keep up with pop-culture cable TV shows, I had to look up who he was. I found this pic of him leaning against the car, but other Mustang & such forums suggested it could be a replica of the movie car. Unless my search skills are letting me down, I can't find any reference to the car right at his main web site. I surfed across a thumbnail pic of a black convertible undergoing that conversion, but now I can't find it. Here's someone else doing that conversion from a few months ago, though.

@Jim- Mc "Q" About the only John Wayne movie I like and mostly for the "Green Hornet"...the '73 Trans Am. Too bad they killed it though. :(

But that's where John Wayne has his best line: "I'm up to my butt in gas!" (insert f@rt sound here...)

Also note that in the final chase scene, the '71 Caddy comes to a halt facing the ocean:

- then in the rest of the scene it's facing the shore...

LOVE that flick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW.....that was the first ever roll a car by shooting a large wood pole out the bottom end of the car to flip it.
