1988ish Paystar 5000 (small update 10-4-15)

Recommended Posts

my next project will be one for my model club as we are doing a group build themed "from the year you were born". being this is probably the newest truck I have, I figured I would give it a shot. not too much planned for this one, just a mild heavy haul look. it will receive an 8v71 cuz there's no way I was gonna put that boat anchor of a motor included in the kit down is this beast. anyway, heres some beginning shots but I would like to take a little poll as I am torn between two wheel types for the front, so let me know what you think I should use!

Born in 88? wow you are actually three years younger than my wife and 10 years younger than I am. LOL. Lookin good so far. I like the wheels in the last photo if it's more modern like that. The other wheels look like form the70's. At least from the styles around here where I am. Can't speak to anywhere else.

I think im DONE with plumbing for now..... well at least as far as the chassis goes. I also ventured into making a mesh style deck plate which I think turned out pretty good. now im itching to throw some color on the frame but im gonna restrain myself until the engine is fully mocked up. enough gabbing, here's some pics.

Thanks guys!

Clayton, I promise that once you start, you won't be able to quit! I think the detailing is my favorite part, the more the better, and its very rewarding when finished.

Terry, I'm debating on opening the doors but I haven't made my mind up yet. We talked a while ago about the mesh, but I never ordered anything, instead I used splash guards for frying pans, and I think they are just about perfect.

Thanks again for the kind words fellas!
