I may have asked about a few of these previously, but maybe not. Four dashboards first:

  1. 1/24 Monogram '69 GTO The Judge?
  2. ?
  3. MPC '69 Plymouth Barracuda?
  4. MPC '70-'78Β Pontiac Firebird?Β

Β

Three center consoles:

  1. ?
  2. JO-HAN AMC '64 & '65Β Rambler
  3. AMT '6? Impala???

Second dash might be MPC Vega.

The consoles:

#2 is Jo-Han 1964, 1965, Β and 1966 Rambler Americans. It was also in the USA Oldies reissue of the '66 Marlin. Beautiful engraving on this part.Β

#3, the 4-speed unit, is from the Jo-Han '66 Marlin annual kit.Β

#1 looks familiar, but I'm not sure. I'd check the xXx version of the MPC/AMT '67 GTO kit. It had a different topper for the console base that's molded into the floor, and memory says the shifter location was offset like that. There's at least one reissue from those crazy RC2 days that has the "regular" version build ofΒ the '67 GTOΒ on the box but the xXx parts inside.

Anybody recognize this two-piece transaxle(?)? Appears to be 1/25 scale, for a smaller car, but I am fairly confident I have ruled out the MPC Pontiac Fiero 4-cylinder, AMT VW Scirocco, MPC Dodge Daytona, and MPC Chevy Cavalier kits...maybe Revell Ford Escort?

Hmmm. It "looks" AMT or MPC to me. I can rule out MPC Dodge Omni O24/etcΒ and Ford EXP, along with AMT Plymouth Horizon TC3. Have a built Revell Ford EXP, and it should be the same as the Revell Escort. That one appears to be very different than this. Can also rule out Revell VW Golf GTI Mk2 and 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix. Monogram '85 Fiero GT might be a possibility. Color seems wrong, but did you look at a MPC/AMT Chevy Beretta?

Those parts are mounting brackets for side boards that are no longer in the kit.Β  The side boards were only in the 1960 and 1961 Chevy pickup kits, and the mail-order version that was sold in the early Sixties.Β  When the trailer was updated for use in the drag team sets a few years later, the side boards were deleted.

Thanks Mark, I didn't think to look at instructions from the early 60's.

It does also resemble the rear fenders in early issue AMT '25 Fords.Β  But all of the Sixties issues I'm aware of were molded in black plastic.Β  I'd still lean towards Monogram, especially if the diameter of that fender is really big.Β  The AMT fenders don't fit over their slicks, if I remember right.

Can anyone identify the source of this transparent red tail light lens? O.D. measures .290", and it's about .075" thick. There is a small lip around the outer edge, and the concentric rings on the lens' face are slightly raised.Β

Aqua AMT wheel for size comparison:

I'm thinking that taillight lens is from one of AMT's early Sixties T-Bird kits, probably one that had Stylizing parts in it.Β  I've never had a complete kit (I've concentrated on stock versions of those) so I don't have any of the instruction sheets to verify this.

Thanks. I was thinking '62-'64-ish, but all of the AMT kit tail lights I looked at on instruction sheets that were round seemed to be cone shaped, or at least peaked on some form.

Possibly early 60s Pontiac, Bonneville or Catalina. Here's a '63 from the web that is VERY close, differing in minor engraving details, so could even be AMT vs, MPC or some such. Definitely has the Poncho style frame rails, making 90 degree-ish turns abruptly at each end of the rocker panels, where most other GM frames curve more gently.

You're right it sure does look like a GM chassis.  Not sure what it was doing under my 67 Galaxie, although it fit 😜

Thanks Rusty

Well, since the Galaxie isn't complete and obviously has the wrong parts you might as well dump it. Just send it to me, I'll pay the postage! πŸ˜‰πŸ‘
