Thanks Scott,..I did get the WR1 version of the ModelerSite instructions,.... Meh <_<

More of a beginner's guide to the build,..I was expecting something else for the dough.

Anyways another little update,..

Front suspension done,...steering linkage still works,... Yahoo!!

That was a lot of parting line filing and sanding  I don't remember Tamiya having that much flash, but..old kit.

Thanks for looking

Hey Thomas Halvarsson

Sorry I missed your comment, Thank You

I am actually using your WR1 as a reference,..I hope you don't mind?

I found it on iFocus, during a google search. Beautiful work Sir. :)

If I can bring 1/2 of the detail of your build to mine,...I will be happy.

Thanks Randy, and Thomas, thank you very much for that link to your beautiful WR1!!

I promised myself at the start, that I would treat each part as a model in itself.
And when I want to hurry something I need to put it down and take Riley for a walk!!
RI450x600_zps28fc4313.jpg
So a bit of an update,...working out the small stuff,..
Finished the gas fittings
IMG_4680%20600x450_zpse492nufd.jpg
Scratched a throttle linkage,.
IMG_4677%20600x450_zps7afo4j0l.jpg
Got the rear discs and calipers mounted,..
IMG_4681%20600x450_zps8d9hzxi6.jpg
Trans cooler set up with beading wire lines and 1:25th A/N fittings,..
IMG_4678%20600x450_zpsyozbgn74.jpg
And finally got myself some Alclad,...
IMG_4679%20600x450_zps8txo2mgi.jpg
Wow, I love this stuff !!
No airbrush clogs, no big clean up, I just rattle canned a coat of shiny Duplicolor onto the part, let it dry for a day and shot it with ALC 114 Chrome for Lexan and bingo, Polished alum.....Jeez, that easy!
Anyway that's it for now,..more to follow,...
Thanks for looking in.
Questions and comments always welcome.
Cheers

Very nice Bruce. Alclad over that blue works well on a racecar.

Don't forget to plumb those calipers with braided line...

Hey Bruce, That's a great pic of the car and tires. Your painting skills really give the car a "real" quality that is tough to beat. It just looks "right"! Cheers, Tim

Thanks Tim,..I picked up some new paints,..mig "Dark Brown Grime" and the Darkstar "Molten Metals" and am really enjoying them.

Cato ,...the disc brakes,.. get hard tubed.

Bit of an update,...

After much researching,.... and staring,...

I've decided to go flat black exhaust IMG_4691%20600x450%202_zpsanf4auee.jpg

Bit of weathering to come,..

Did up the wheels with Duplicolor sandable black primer, and then rubbed with Mr. Zip graphite powderIMG_4530600x450_zpsd50ed996.jpg

IMG_4694%20600x450_zps5citbrxk.jpg

Other than a few snapped C connectors ( which were promptly C/A'd back in place), this has gone together fairly well,..

More to come

Cheers

It was 70* yesterday and all the golf courses are open!

I live below Lake Ontario in the Golden Horseshoe of the Niagara Peninsula.

Engine C..,? rods got Testors flat Steel ends and then Testors Acrylic Gold Metallic over...

Testors Acrylic Gold Metallic....?...decent wash..straight out of the bottle ;)

Yes still some touch up and weathering to do on those,... MIG Grime wash is my friend :)

Still waiting on #4 connectors .. trying different things,..

IMG_4700%20600x450_zpskluhgf5h.jpg

IMG_4704%20600x450_zps2q5lbu5a.jpg

Lastly,.. does anyone know how to sand this parting line correctly ,...so it looks smooth..??

IMG_4702%20600x450_zpsyoxfb2hm.jpg

Rotors and brakes...superb

Wiring and connectors...excellent

Tire sanding easy.....if you can mount your tire in a Dremel or drill press. These pneumatic sanders work well to mount on

image.jpg1_14.jpg

Canadian Tire sells 'em

Golf......Love to play, but I don't think my back would hold up to 18 holes yet

Although I'm not into this type of car, I do know top shelf building when I see it. Fantastic.

IMG_4714%20600x450_zpsyklilzg3.jpg

Need to add brake lines and such

IMG_4713%20600x450_zpsmtevoyoo.jpg

IMG_4711%20600x450_zpsy0m0a5ml.jpg

On a side note, this old cabinet was in our family owned hardware store for years, it held # drill bits. I forgot I still had it!

IMG_4705%20600x450_zpsgaqwnmuh.jpg

IMG_4706%20600x450_zps7j8plvzi.jpg
