1965 Pontiac Bonneville.

I especially like the appearance of the carpet and rear package shelf. May I ask what you used for these areas ? It does not look like flocking. Red lines and green paint are always a great combo too.

I use paper floked if necessary paint.

A very beautiful build Yuri. I'm wondering if it was built from an original kit? Or if a reissue, which one?

How did I miss this one?? Absolutely gorgeous Yuri!

Interesting enough, all this talk of AMT's Bonneville lately made me check out eBay. I just snagged one (Prestige Kit) for a VERY reasonable price! :)

I like what you did to the headlights...........makes that beautiful front end that much more beautiful!

This is good news. There is some debate on what came in this box. Was it really the Bonneville? Or the 2+2? There was some question if the dies/tooling for the Bonneville were lost to the 2+2 when Ertl made the 2+2.

The closer I look at your model, the more I wonder about it. On the original AMT Bonnevilles there was a badge of some sort on the front fender, above the the wide rocker panel, just behind the front wheel. It's shown on the box art above, but missing from your model. Also the rocker panels don't look quite right in your photos compared to the original kits. Your rocker panels look smooth. The original kit's rocker panel have horizontal ridges, fluting. Also, I believe the original kit had the word Bonnevile in the driver side upper segment of the grille. Which looks like it's missing on your build.

This makes me wonder. Did Ertl ruin the tooling for the Bonneville in making the 2+2? Then realized their mistake, and tryed to convert the the tooling back to a Bonneville? The mystery deepens.

You need new glasses Scott! :D

Almost everything you stated as missing on Yuri's build, I can see.

The rocker panel moldings are ridged, & the Bonneville lettering is in the grille, albeit faint.

You are correct about the badge on the front quarters though.

My "Prestige" kit has them.

I wish I could help you with the glass. But I only have the set that came in my Prestige version of the kit.

Absolutely beautiful, love the red lines and the paint looks amazing. The interior is also very sweet. Nice mods on the head lamps, thats much better. Great model all round.
