Got this kit on trade...thanks MrMopar. So far I'm having fun with the assembly. I probably have ten hours in it so far and not even half done cleaning things up and gluing sub assemblies. There must be about 400 pieces in the kit. I plan to do a box stock build that is heavily weathered.

Lots of possibilities here. And yes heavily weathered is the way to go. In 30 years of running equipment. I only got to run two new dozers, one new wheel trenher, a number of excavators and loaaders all new and or used and abused.

So I will be watching this build with a good deal of interest. As I have several junkers and a couple fresh dozer kits in the stash.

I didn't like where the rear roof pillar was so I moved it back. I also thought it need something more so I enclosed the window area with screen.

I also got a little something to go along with the dozer.

A little update. The trailer is almost done. Just need to finish the landing gear and add airlines. The dozer just got some paint

The trailer looks great. Nice work on the landing gear. Just to give a little tip, since you have landing gear, you don't need that cable loop on the very front of the trailer. This is to pull the trailer onto the truck with a winch. Great job on the dozer cab also. The screen is a nice touch.

I built this several years ago and never did get it weathered. Looking forward to seeing this one done.

I really like the shop made cab.

I'm not sure if you are being period correct but the color you have looks like the newer cat paint, after 1979. The D8H ended around 1974.
