I just loved the the box art for this kit. After building the model “box stock”, I decided I could recreate the box art using Photoshop. I waited for a clear and sunny day and drove to a near by construction site that looked like the back ground in the box art. Setting the model on a piece of 400 grit sandpaper (looks like the proper scale asphalt), I then held the model up and turned until the lighting and background angle was as close to the box art as I could get (I can only imagine what someone driving by and seeing me holding up a toy car and spinning around might have thought…the things we do for our art). I then brought the pic into Photoshop and proceeded to add the driver figure, tire smoke and motion blurring to the wheels. It was a fun and simple project that I plan on doing more of…I call it a “digital diorama”…not taking anything away from the guys who create fully built dioramas. I just wanted to add a bit more “life”to the art that inspired me…
