ARTEMIS1759 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) OK so I am in negotiations for a 1965 REO Truck (1:1) and been messing with paint jobs and this is what I came up with. It is Kandy Tangerine and Jet Black: I started with this but it had a single rear axle: The Air Cleaners change from truck to truc. Which one looks better 1,2 or 3? MikeMc Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Terry....if you could post the pictures rather than thumbnails it would make the choices easier...I can't see the diff.....
hotrod59f100 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Terry that would be cool. I like. 2 and 3 . What kind of change dose a ole girl like that run for these days if you don't mind me asking. Also what engine dose she run.
ARTEMIS1759 Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) Well, I got a thread down in the 1:1 trucks section to show what it is. I am looking around 1500-2000 not running (though shes an old diesel so I am sure with a little work she'll fire up) Its a 6v53 Detroit with an Allison 6 speed and 2 speed Eaton rear. I am partial to 2 and 3 too. Maybe 3 with the toppers from 1? Not sure if it's practical to run these type of ACs up here but I think they look cool as hell. And she will be a retired heavy hauler, so she won't see much use as a worker anymore. Plans once she is driveable is to find a 60s era 40 or 50 ton lowboy. Already found a winch for the back. hotrod59f100 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Sounds cool. I like the idea. I wish ther were some truck yards by me I like to shoot them with my cam. I have some nice pic of some old trucks . I wish I could come up with a 48 -51 ford Coe . Any thing past a 60s and there just aa rust pile here in NY. To much salt I guess.
ARTEMIS1759 Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 I like my old trucks too. I knew where there was a 53 F600 but not sure if it is still there up Montana way.
