Platerpants Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 This is my dads dream dart brought to life before he could restore it. Its Plum Crazy with AAR Striping a custom logo, a 340 and some other stuff. The model is a kitbash between a 68 dart and a 74 dart sport. The first photo is of the dashboard vin number This is a 74 and 69(my dad built the 69) comparison
rmvw guy Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 The VIN is hard to see in the photo but, it looks like the real deal! Nice job on both!
Harry P. Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 What's going on there on the back end? It looks like there's some sort of translucent blue film over the taillights and center chrome panel.

Platerpants Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 and the blue is gonna turn flat black just forgot to paint over that
Bartster Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Decent job on a tough conversion, Jake. Looks like the scoops are a little too far in. They should be a little closer to the edges of the hood. l like the color combo, Plum Crazy is hard to beat! Like the door handles too! Bart.
Albie D Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Funny, as I clicked on this Clutch's, "Spacegrass" came up on the Ipod rotation. Too bad it's not a 73.... Cool model, love purple Mopars!
Platerpants Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Thanks for the positives and i guess the negatives show what i did wrong. im aware of the scoop spacing and the whole angling of the rear
Platerpants Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 I showed this to my dad and he approved of everything except the fact that he wants the stripes to be white instead of black

Platerpants Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 i might get to do the engine rebuild at my trade school for my dad i need a senior project and this would be a great car to do for my senior project
Platerpants Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 (edited) well i didnt get to do this engine for my senior project at my trade school, but my dad's intrepid RT motor went again(second time) so i got to put a new motor in it. I painted it hemi Orange. And My dad kinda hinted that we will dropping the 340 in the dart this summer before i leave for UTI in exton pa to learn more on mechanics and get my ford fact training. So Here is some engine swap pictures, and my model dart sitting on my dads dart's inner fender(the engine compartment is the only painted part). Last one is the day after we drove it home from my trade school. Sorry for rambling, and bringing this topic up again. Edited May 11, 2013 by Platerpants
