Moon Pie Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 The Revell '56 Nomad is a great kit, except for one thing... ... that too long front pan and bumper.! I don't know if you have all seen "Forrest Gump", but every time I look at that Nomad's front pan and bumper,it's like looking at Bubba's lip. May have supposed to be on Bubba, but not that Nomad!! So I decided to work on the fix. Good ol' "Eyeball Engineering Inc." Take the pan and remove the center brace from the bottom and set it aside. Once you have that done, make a line that is about .145 parallel to all the back edge of the pan and cut that away. Then do the same to the frame braces (.145), but far enough back that you will not lose the mounting "humps" for the pan. You'll also want to do the same with the center brace.
brewsterg6 Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Great tip Moon Pie... I'm at this point, and I'll give it a try. This (and moving!) has halted this build. But things should move along now that I've unpacked the hobby room, and figured out how I'm going to ice Bubba's lip!!
