  1. I want this! And a tractor, please!
  2. Hey, that car looks funny!
  3. I don't think there was a first letter, I think it was Steve McQueen himself who was there to make an offer in person, and was turned down.
  4. http://www.ponysite.de/charger_welch.htm
  5. Read about it on a couple of sites that specialized in Celebrity type cars, most of them documenting how Steve McQueen tried buying the car back himself. The biggest speculation was about the second car and the Charger. Since then, both of those cars have been found. And this one was just kept hidden. I also remember reading about it in Road and Track, Car and Driver and I think even Hot Rod had something on it. So no, it was not a well kept secret. As for the condition of the car, one must remember that this was a daily car for the family for some time and it was kept as is since it was decided to park the car and not mess with it. That to me would be lovingly kept. The JD Porsche was stripped of usable parts and the basic hulk was put on tour. It disappeared between shows. The parts that made it out are apparently cursed, but still out there.
  6. Well, If I, and most of the Automotive world knew, then yes, I guess most folks didn't know. A real Rediscovery or Found for me would be something in the order of James Dean's Porsche. not a Mustang that has been lovingly kept by a family. Don't get me wrong, I am glad they finally revealed the car to the world, but, it is not that rare of a discovery.
  7. Honestly, why is this being called "Rediscovered or Found" as most folks knew where the car was and that the owner did not want to show it or sell it. The one in Mexico is more of a "Barn Find" discovery than this car. It's cool that is going to be shown, finally, but it is not a forgotten barn find by any stretch.
  8. Very sharp! Nice build
  9. I found a second one at my LHS, after the guy there told me they would likely not get any! Nice!!
  10. I am sure we can all agree they have the worst commercials ever!
  11. Picked up another Moebious Butch Leal and Golden Commandos kits! I was quite surprised they showed up at my LHS!
  12. Well, there is always the possibility from AMT / Round 2. We have new Camaro and Challenger kits, maybe Mustangs and Vettes could be coming
  13. Oh yeah, sorry! New kits!
  14. The moving hub cap and different pipes
  15. Ok Revell, time to bring back the Merc!
  16. I just turned 50 and I am happy! Fun! Blah... Just my point of view
  17. I like Vintage Nascar kits, when the looked like real deal cars and decals where not the only thing that made them different. True, the Monogram Cookie Cutters kits of the 90's and early 2000's are like the herpes of model kits, just when you think you sold them all off, you find another one in the stash! Not to be too mean to the current NASCAR builders, but they are a bit boring to look at. Vintage on the other hand, is where it's at! I know, I wish they made stock versions as well, and I suppose they could make a stock version with race parts, but, then you would get a watered down kit that you would have to modify to build the race version. And it would not look as good as a single purpose race kit. Provided that they do it properly as well. And for the price? Why not, we are paying that for Moebious kits and vintage re-issues. Why not a whole new kit that is done right? But, the proof is in the pudding and I look forward to seeing what these kits really look like.
  18. Revell gave us Linda Vaughn, twice, we got Jungle Pam, Felicity Shagwell and Elvira, why not Sandy?
  19. Have you ever built this kit? Not the Grease issue, obviously, but the last issue of it? It is a pretty nice kit. I could see some disdain and disappointment of this kit if it was an awful kit to begin with, but, it is just being issued as a Movie tie in with new decals and some other parts, otherwise, it is a nice kit. I am getting one for sure because I collect Show Biz type kits. And just be glad it was not cut up into the car in the final scene!
  20. Feast your eyes on a very nicely built example! http://www.svensworldofwheels.com/hurst_crazy_cutlass_page.html
  21. Well, there was the Cordoba And the Dart
  22. I must admit that when I first saw this I just assumed it was in 1/16th scale, but it is in 1/25th! Now I am truly impressed! This is looking killer!
  23. That is one cool cat and you did one great build of a rather clunky kit. I remember building Revell funny cars at the time and then doing the AMT kits, I was quite amused at how clunky and far off they where from the Revell kits. But, I was glad, and still am, to have them in my collection!
