sorry for the late reply ! thnx guys !
If your station is a "fixed in time"dio I what year is it built to represent?Since the oil cans you have on display in the window were not in use untill after world war 2 I'm assuming you built it as a post war piece.
i did not really have a exact period or year in mind , but its def. ment to be a old station ...rural setting ...i have tried to label it with an exact year in the beginning but in the end just build it ...so you are welcome to look and determan a year for it ...
its def. a post war piece since the style sign i used is 50's ? i believe ... and since the gasstation is all weathered its a older station .. so i could be in the late 60's early 70's ?? like in a remote rural earea where they did not update the signs / style wise ??
the building could be earlyer ....
i dont know really lol , tbh i seldom put in effort or time to pin point stuff like that and let my imagination run free and build stuff so for me it seems plausible together ..

you know what i might just do that richi wasn't totally happy with it after I'd acrylic cleared it but wasn't sure what to do to make it pop. thanks for the suggestion and the appreciation
if you wash the wood black and sand it back a bit you get the dark woodgrain , its really cool .. you can even put some brown woodstain over after that and that brings it to life even more
-
thnx guys !
-
very cool ! , def. out of the box and i love the look !
the wood could use some staining imo to really finish it of .. could also be cool to wash the wood with black so it gos in the woodgrain and then stain or clear coat

yeaah , awsome build

Just beautiful and so are your dioramas. Richard, what material did you use for the roof?
thnx ! the roof is made of medical tape (cloth tape) , the white tape found in emergency kits , to tape bandage ... you can spray it with paint , color it with a marker etc !...
just roll it off and put it on a smooth surface , cut to size , paint it and then carefully pull of and put on the part .. also works great to make carpet , a parcelshelf etc .. i wanted more of a vinyl look then this but i could not come up with good material so i dis this , i def want to find some material that resembles a vinyl roof better ..

stunning job !!!!!!!!!!!

thnx guys !!
i forgot to mention , all the chrome is sprayed (rattle can) only the dash pieceis kit chrome..
i'm on a build break since i need to finish a big diy job in my house .. but the next kit is already waighting on the bench , a '55 ford panel truck from revell , also a paint bomb .. got most painted stripped already
-
thnx all ! !
Absolutely amazing work-wow-could you tell me what you used for brake line ?
thnx and sure its a sort of spring stuff , very small diameter but very flexible , looks ribbed because its wound like a spring (no tension) so it looks like braided line . for the fuel line i used a guitar snare , also ribbed
-
aww thnx a lot guys ! much apriciated !! irl it looks better imo on the pics it looks rougher ..
and i'm glad i pulled of the look with no surf theme ...maybe one of these days i will build a nice metal roof rack for the woody and put some misc. stuff on top

thnx jim !

I've been following this build since the beginning - well done!
The diorama you have pictured is awesome and the Woody looks right at home there too.
thnx !
You are a true craftsman! Beautiful work. Shop tools are - just impressive. Could cut some drums for me?
thnx and ship them over we are not afraid of some work lol hahaha

this revell 48 woody started out as half a glue bomb .. most parts and body where badly painted .. luckely not put together .. i revamped it into a patina resto mod style ..
engine is a 5.0 ho ford v8 .. customized some stuff and build a battery , master brake cilinder etc ..
chassis is heavely modified with airbags , brake lines , custom made exhaust ..
interiour is rather stock and not weathered ...
