A beautiful car.

So far everything on my 1/16 scale 1963 Corvette Sting Ray build has been going really good. I have a beautiful Tamiya light metallic blue paint job on the kit, that looks great. It’s time to install the glass. The instructions say to drill a hole, with an Exacto knife, in the front glass to make a hole for mounting the inside rearview mirror. This is where I ran into a problem.
As I’m working on the hole, the windshield ends up splitting in half. Now I need a replacement. Is there anybody out there who can help me? It would be greatly appreciated.

The 1/32 scale kits are nice. The 1/25 scale kits, not so much.

Started stripping tonight, the bad chrome on a Pyro 1/32 ‘32 Pierce Arrow custom convertible that I bought a while back. Overall it looks like a nice kit. Some stuff is already glued together. I have those parts in my freezer, seeing if that will help break some of the stronger glue bonds. Beyond that, I’m just missing the windshield and one parking lamp. I’m sure I can make those. But, if anybody has a spare of those parts, it would be greatly appreciated if I could get them.

Very nice. I especially like the color choices.

I want a “showroom stock” ‘71 or ‘72 Comet GT.

By the way, I love the other 1/32 scale kits I’ve built in this series. I’ve built the ‘56 Continental Mark II, the ‘56 Ford Sunliner, and the ‘56 Caddy Eldorado. I’ve never had any major problems with these kit, despite their multi piece bodies. If they reissue any of these kits with glass I’ll buy and build them again. I’d love to any of the others come back, but mainly in “stock” form.

How much of this is “stock” vs “custom?” I know it does not have a stock grille. But, what of other parts in this kit?

Nice job. Looks great.

If it turns out that the 1/16" is the right size, RON COON RESINS lists them, package of 8 for $1.20 Part# W36...... hope that helps.....

Do you have a local Hobby Lobby or Hardware Store? You can take the wheel backs in with you and measure them against the rods that they have in stock if you don't have a caliper to measure them with. Those are cheap to at Walmart. They only go down to the 100's though, not the 1000's. I think less than ten bucks. Harbor Freight has them too. They get more pricey as you get into the ones that measure to the 1000'sth.

Good suggestions guys. Thank you.

Here's a suggestion that I would say would actually move a fair number of kits - whatever blueprints/research/tooling bucks might still exist of the aborted '50 Studebaker two door project from the end of the Mueller era need to be employed to finally give us THAT kit as conceived.
Rather than 1950, I’d to see a ‘51 Studebaker Commander. ‘51 was first year for their new V-8 in the Commander series. ‘50 Champs (an‘51 Champs too) and Commanders were all straight sixes. Give me an V-8 over an 6 any day. Other than that, the ‘50 and ‘51s look pretty close.

Hey guys and gals. I’m looking for the metal axles came with the old AMT 1/43 scale model car kits. I have two kits, the 1968 Mustang 2+2 and the 1969 Ford Torino, that are both in good shape and complete, other than they’re both missing their axles. Is there anybody out there that can help me with this?

Beautiful build. Very nice.

I’m presently working on this kit. The other day I was following the instructions on drilling a hole, with an Exacto knife, for mounting the inside rear view mirror. The window decided to split in half. Now I’m looking for a replacement windshield. Is there anybody who can help me out there?
