It looks like Atlantis’ service is as good as their models. They have informed me, that the replacement parts I need are already in the mail on their way to me. What more can one ask for?
Well, the Atlantis folks are as good as their word. Friday, they told the missing parts were on there way. They arrived in today’s mail. That’s fast service. I’m impressed.

Ah, good old T-tops. Let the water begin to come in. I’d never consider buying a car with them, after seeing the problems they caused for just about everybody I knew who had them.

Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate it with me. Happy 246 years to the good old U.S. of A. And what says more about America to cars guys, than good old American muscle cars? And the peak year (arguably) for America muscle cars? Of course 1969.
July’s suggested theme for the next MCCM (Model Car Club of Minnesota) meeting is “Red, White, and Blue. (That meeting by the way, is normally the second Wednesday of every month. This month it will be on July 13, 2022. At the Circle Pines, Anoka county library.)
For years now I’ve had AMT/Ertl’s ‘69 Muscle Car SuperSet in collection waiting to be built. In the box? What they claim to be a ‘69 Ford Torino (Really just called just a Cobra by Ford. Torino was not part of its name for the 1969 model year.), a 69 Hurst Olds, and a ‘69 Plymouth Barracuda. The box shows the Cobra in red. The Hurst Olds of course in white. And the Barracuda in blue. Red, white, and blue! Perfect for our club theme! So, a few weeks ago I started building. And just today, on July 4th, I finished putting the final touches on the final car. The decals on the Hurst Olds. (Well, not truly finished. In the next few days I need to put Future floor polish on to protect the decals on the Hurst Olds.)
i hope you enjoy my little tribute to America. And her glorious history (car wise any how).

You made me laugh with your comments about winter and hockey. Hockey is my 2nd favorite sport (after auto racing). I have seen this "kit" before but looks like a toy so have no interest but thanks for showing us.
It basically is a toy. And really not that much fun to play. Too limited in what you can do in playing with it. It gets boring real fast.
I do like like Woodstock’s calm demeanor on his face. He’s smiling with his eyes closed. He seem little worried that he can not defend the goal. Snoopy on the other hand, doesn’t look as confident. He looks like he’s having a hard time getting the puck past his little buddy.

What’s the word on this one. Was ever finished? It sure was looking good before the last posting.

Phenomenal. The paint work make the build second to none. I’m impressed.

Lost opportunity ? This was R2's chance to revise , if not totally to replace , the '63-64 vintage Cobra kit. A proper 289ci rather than the original 260 at a minimum. I saw that the box said 289 but I saw no change in the sprue images. The body mods that were such a part of the racing history (FIA, USRRC, Dragonsnake) don't seem to be offered and a "fastback top" unlike anything ever seen on an actual car. Having said all that, yep I'll likely add it to my collection if for nothing else but the wheel/tire options, FI intake tubes and the decal sheet. (sigh)
That’s one I didn’t expect any changes to. It’s still a nice classic kit as far as I’m concerned. The last one I built, turned out good enough for me. Unless something happens to that one, I’ll never being buying another. I do have the Revell Cobra with Ken Miles and Carroll Shelby figures I need to finish. With the old AMT kit, a street (already built) and racing version of the Revell kits. I think I have enough Cobras in my collection.

I pre-ordered the Gurney Lotus Indy car from Auto World this morning. Along with a few pre-order die-cast stuff too. I was disappointed that the Ford Bronco was not listed as being available to pre-order as of yet.
-
MPC kits from this time period get bad mouthed a lot. I personally like them. As you’ve shown, with a little basic modeling skill they can be built into fine looking models. Good job.
-
I’ve heard mixed things about this kit. Yours sure looks like it turned out okay.
-
Tough kit to build. Good job.

I built this last night with my 3 year old granddaughter. Same issue with the motor not having enough power to complete the motion cycle. Easy fix was dip a finger in vegetable oil, a drop of oil on all shafts at the rotating points and like magic it works perfectly!!!! Try it. Make sure to do the starting shaft where it goes through the frame also.
Had to let you know. The vegetable oil did the trick. Thanks for the tip.
