  1. I hate snow! But, I love your model. Very nice.
  2. Great job.
  3. I maybe copying others comments. But I like it. Very nice.
  4. I like it. The color is odd, but works.
  5. The chrome is too shiny. Other than that, I like it.
  6. It's suppose to snow anywhere from 1" to 2" here today. The radio is say it's going to be a wintery mix with slippery roads. I'm going to my niece's over in St Paul for Thankgiving diner. Not a great distance. And well worth the drive. But, why today? We've had great weather all month. And it's suppose to get nice again by this weekend and into next week. But again, why today when one has to travel?
  7. Thank you. And I hope you and others have a happy Thanksgiving too.
  8. Where did this come from? I'd love to hear what Scotty is saying.
  9. Thankfully there are not too many in Minnesota. Only a few Timbers in the southeast part of the state. One of the few advantages to living in a state with this cold winter climate. We have very few poisonous creatures up here.
  10. Working in the schools, I still see kids who read books. But, even as in my day, the majority don't.
  11. Yes. I too hope that everybody in this country who celebrate the holiday, has a good one.
  12. I'm thankful for more of Ed's postings of his great pictures here. Thanks Ed. Please keep them coming.
  13. The seat is wrong for a stock sedan delivery too. The real sedan delivery came with only one seat big enough to hold the driver as standard equipment. One could order a a second identical passenger seat as an option. But no bench, as seen in the AMT kits. But again, the kit can be built in such away, that most people will not know its not stock. Despite the problems, I like the kit. In fact, it's my favorite of the '40 Ford body styles that AMT offers. It may not be right. But, it looks good to me.
  14. Solid lifters has always been my understanding. I may be wrong on this concerning Chrysler's Hemi. But in Chrysler's B body cars there looks like there would be enough room for both the engine and the a/c compressor. And true, they did switch the Hemi over to hydraulic lifters in the end. I don't know why it was not offered then? Then again, how many hydraulic lifter Hemis were built in '71? By the way, Chrysler did offer air conditioning with their Hemi engines from 1953 - 1958. And those Hemis have big heads, just like the 426. Yet air was offered there. The more I think of it, the I'm inclined to think space was not the big reason. I do know, Chrysler for space reasons would not offer air conditioning on '70 and '71 E body cars with the shaker hood option. No matter what engine. This is one of few examples I know of were space was the consideration. The solid lifter issue is the reason you could not get air conditioning in Chevrolet's Camaro Z/28 until 1973. The first year for hydraulic lifters in the Z/28. All solid lifter factory built Corvettes were not available with a/c
  15. Got an email from Round 2 today, stating the same thing. Licensing on all Dukes of Hazard ends as of the first of the year.
  16. I'm building my Three Stooges version "stock". The minor differences don't bother me. Most people won't know it's not correct for a '40 stock sedan delivery anyway.
  17. Those original T1-757 Trophy instructions are great. As a side note. One of my favorite things that came with this kit was the Tiki shift lever. What a gas!
  18. Stock? None of them can be built truly "stock". The kit was originally based off of AMT's '40 Ford 2-door sedan. The problem comes in with the rear fenders and taillights. These fenders and taillights are right for the sedan. But not the sedan delivery. The sedan delivery's rear body is wider than the regular cars in the Ford line that year. The rear fenders are narrower and do not carry the taillights in or on them. The rear sedan delivery taillights are more like the taillights you'd find on a '36 Ford. They attach to the body on stems. There are other minor problems that won't let you build a truly stock sedan delivery. Things like the location of the gas tank on the chassis. But, other than the things in mentioned above, it can be built to pretty close to stock. To the uninitiated, the close to stock version will look stock.
  19. Oh, by the the way. A good tread to start would be showing and comparing the different AMT '63 Impalas. I'd like to learn more. But, back to the '64.
  20. How about getting back to the '64 that started this tread? Anybody got one they can show us?
  21. I'd love to see an out of the box review of this. I've never owned or seen kit beyond the outside of the box. I own a stock AMT '75 Matador. One of those cars a lot of people thought were ugly, that I've always liked.
  22. Oooo! I need a 1/25 scale Jungle Pam!
