  1. The quote your think of is credited to Socrates by Plato. It's worth looking up. Every generation, I'm sure way before Socrates has thought the same things about the upcoming youth. Things never really change, or so it seems. The kid are and will be okay. This has been going on forever. And we'll mostly keep see our youth through rose colored glasses. Scott
  2. Dave, any word on what's the latest on the '65 Comet? (Also the Jonny Quest Dragonfly?) Scott
  3. Still one of my favorite cars and favorite kits. Very happy with the latest reissue. Waiting for the 1/32 scale version, any day now. Scott.
  4. I'd buy a Ventura if they reissued one. But, I'd really like to see them reissue the Buick Century and Mercury Monarch. Scott
  5. Looking forward to it. Still. Scott
  6. Which kit are you talking about here?
  7. Nice. I like the colors. I'd also like to see more of the '40 you show with it. Scott
  8. Not a Mercury Meteor. A Meteor Ranchero yes. Sold through your Mercury-Lincoln-Meteor dealer. They did sell Mercury trucks through these dealerships too. But, the Ranchero was a Meteor only (with a Ford version at your Ford-Monarch dealer, of course). Not a Mercury. Scott
  9. I agree. But, this one just seems strange to me. More than normal. Scott
  10. This is a minor complaint. But, when reading threads on my iPad, I have troubles reading posts written in script. I like reading what everybody has to say. But, reading things here in script form is just a problem for me. Scott
  11. Model Car Club of Minnesota meeting last. Another fun one. Theme was Wagons, Ranchereos, El Caminos, and Utes. A great turn out. Most following the theme, but not all. I personally brought a '65 Chevelle wagon, a matching '65 El Camino, a Long John dragster, and a War of the Worlds diorama. Most people bring only car or trucks. But, I like to slip in a SciFi model from time to time. And they're nice enough to let me. Scott
  12. What the point of this thread? Scott
  13. They may not be forcing me to buy, but they're forcing me to look at a lot of stuff I don't need to. Wasting my time. And my time does have some value too me. Scott
  14. You need one for your self too. Scott
  15. We did not have a color TV when I was growing up in the 1960's and early 70's. My folks got their first color TV after I was out of house. I too have a lot of fond memories growing up in the 60's. Now I work with kids, and I don't think its really any worst for them today. It's just different. No better. No worst. And most kids are still turning out just fine. There are the screwed up kids out there, but there were back in my day too. I remember being afraid of the bullies. Kids in my day used drugs, smoked cigarettes, shop lifted, vandalized, and did other stupid stuff that adults would tell you they never did back in their day. Yet there were plenty of concerns and movies made about juvenile delinquents going back into the 1930's that I know of. By the way, I find it interesting that worst school massacre/killing in U.S. history happened in Bath, Michigan back in the late 1920's. The more things change. The more they stay the same. Scott
  16. 99% of the kits I build I paint the body before building. I will do some sub-assembly before painting. Things like engine blocks, heads, etc. Scott
  17. I've got the last Titan reissue. I'd really like to see the Astro reissued with the Turbine engine. Scott
  18. Nice Nova. But stock? Scott
  19. Nice build, no matter what country it was built in. Scott
  20. Very nice build. Scott
  21. Hot Rod magazine showed how to do the real conversion back in the 60's. And I've been thinking about doing it in model form for years now. Both the Karmann-Ghia and the VW buses will take the Corvair engine with no exterior body modifications. What Ghia kit did you use? What Corvair engine? And can we see more of how you did your conversion? Did you use a Corvair or VW transaxle? I have a Tamiya Ghia that I go back and forth on doing this. But, the VW engine in that kit looks so very nice. I hate to not use it. Maybe I need to sneak a Corvair power plant into my Revell bus instead? Scott
  22. Very kool! I like the way turbos sticking out the sides. Scott
  23. Very nice build. How about a little info on the kit? Scott
  24. Very nice. I like it. A lot. Scott
