  1. Looking forward to the continuation of the tow car Alan ...boat looks awesome
  2. Cool build Alan ! Is this what your looking for...? You can find your older stuff by scrolling thru your own content under your user info....
  3. Rod Hall started competing in the first Baja 1000 in 1967 in a Jeep CJ-5. In 1969 he switched to a Bill Stroppe built 4X4 Bronco and won the overall trophy. After some years, the Bronco was donated to the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame to honor Rod's 35 class wins over the years. In 2016 Rod pulled the Bronco out of the ORMHOF and had it restored to race in the NORRA Mexican 1000..his 50th time entered in the event. ! This is a replica of that restored Bronco. I started with the Revell '66 Bronco Used alot of Joseph's (fireball model works) aftermarket parts..roll cage, wheels/tires, carb, fender flares, 4" lift kit, ..and used STS decals for the livery. Scratchbuilt everything else..jack, shovel, bush bar, engine shroud, gas tank, dash, interior panels, exhaust, high low shifter, seat belts..etc. On to the pics Life got in the way during this build and it ended up being a 4 year on and off deal, but it's done !! Here's the WIP This is the pic I remember seeing back in the early '70s in Hot Rod mag., and I knew when Revell came out with the Bronco, I had to build it. Cheers all..thanks for looking in..as always Q C+ C's are always welcome. Later
  4. Paint finish looks great Greg..airbrush or spray bomb ? Interior work really looks the part !
  5. Love Tamiya bikes, and you did a great job on that one..even with the old decals
  6. STS decals came through with some really nice stuff...dipped in warm water and almost instantly ready to slide Colours are brilliant and nice sharp demarcation..very happy and well worth the wait. Just need to scratch up a shovel and a jack, do a bit of weathering, and she'll be going under glass. Thanks for checking in ..all questions, comments, and critiques are welcome.
  7. Coming along there Scott, like what you did with the upper body lines
  8. Looking good Bob..man you got a bench full going on (2thumsup)
  9. Nice clean work on that engine Bob
  10. Started grinding out the exhaust, and ended up taking out the whole pan..things got outta hand Hid the 'carpet' moulding on the interior floor with some .025 mm extended out 5mm (3/16") to meet the body shell. ...gratuitous mock up... Might have found a doner engine More later..
  11. Thanks man ...The gold is Duplicolor High heat Engine enamel, CDE1604 Universal gold...everything else I tried was too washed out.
  12. Yep, got a decent one out of an older Tbird, also the Foose pickup has a Roush 427 I'm looking at stealing, will need to swap out the AOD trans on it. More to think about
  13. It's not the kit cannot, it's more, I cannot build any kit box stock...lol Besides, the kit itself is loaded with flash, bad fitment and warped, short shot parts...so...Stock car !
  14. Kit comes with a blobby looking 312 auto..going to need to swap that out with something more competitive for sure..going thru my parts to see if I kept a 351 4 speed ,,,maybe. And steal the 9" rear out of the '56 pick up
  15. Sad to hear of Jairus' passing...great artist, and avid slot car guy.
  16. Awesome pack of Indy cars John...love that Graham Hill Lotus wedge I have only done a couple '80s cars Hoping it's a great race this year,..rooting for Pato !
  17. Thats my favorite part, cleaning all the seam lines on a roll cage.....NOT!!
  18. Oops thats the one he ran in Michigan
  19. Beauty conversion Glen ..really like the colours you chose...well done! Cheers
  20. Small block Chevy engines have been used in almost everything Hot Rod....reliability and easy parts swap maybe...? Chop looks great Scott
  21. I've been looking at this one on my stash shelf for several years, knowing it couldn't be built stock and look decent. The moulds are slushy and the trim detail and opening doors were wonky. Glued the doors shut, trimmed off the vent windows, ground off all the badges and trim, radiused the wheel openings Found some suitable shoes Going for something like this Will be using some of Bill Elliot's 9 decals Throw back to all the cars I watched race up at Merrittville Speedway back in the day Cheers
  22. In all seriousness (not really), what ARE the differences between a 30 and 32 Ford body...? I see the door bottom needs to be scribed above the 1/2 round detail, file off the flange on the front of the cowl, and take the visor off above the wind shield...but what else..? Enquiring minds want to know.....
  23. Oh I like that Shawn..very precise detailing and finish. I struggle with the black rubber bumper strips, how did you do yours ? Cheers
