My hauls for the past month to date (yeah, bending the rules).......
The Folgers Mustang and the VW were trades. The MPC El Camino was an antique/junk store find. The three Firebirds and the Ramchargers 330 are from a local model vendor in my local farmers/flea market. All complete and sealed in the boxes.
Also, just snagged this off eBay today. I love the Deals Wheels line! Good price (I think) for a sealed bag kit.

Hmmmmmm......I *might* just have to put a bid up for that. I don't care all that much about the IMC aspect, but it would go great with my collection of vintage car mags (Hot Rod/Car Craft/Drag Racing Illustrated) and my love for all things vintage drag racing.

I'll start off by saying this:
-Expect mistakes
-Expect frustrating lengths of time between updates
-Expect mediocre quality as I hone the "skills" I have
With that out of the way, I know introduce you to my first (and soon to be most challenging ) project in a long time.....The Packin' Pacer. The story and idea behind this is built on another favorite line of cars from kids to adults alike......Hot Wheels. The Packin' Pacer is a Hot Wheels designed AMC Pacer wagon. Powered by what looks like a blown engine, it is a rear mounted setup. The header collectors exiting out where the rear hatch glass was. I've always loved this model from Hot Wheels, and AMC Pacers in general. So when I came across one on here from DrKerry, I jumped on it. This will be my first build of this scale I've ever taken on (I've normally only built box stock, and that was when I was a teen, 36 soon). I've never scratch built an entire chassis, which by all accounts I'm going to have to do. My basic plans so far are these....
-Blown Hemi sourced from some kit (AMT '70 Super Bee Pro Street most likely)
-Full custom built frame (I need more Evergreen)
Not much to go on huh? Yeah, like most things in life, I'll figure it out as I go. Thanks for looking, and feel free to drop any hints/tricks/criticisms/insults/etc.

UP 4012 is outside at Steamtown in Scranton, PA. I couldn't believe it was that immense. It's seriously a (formerly) functional work of art.

There is part of the problem. Can anyone keep a women happy it long run? And I'm not just talking about your "hint, hint." I don't know. I've never had much luck in that area. And for that reason I've stay a long term bachelor up until now.
All depends on the woman of course. My ex-wife......well there are plenty of reasons why that didn't work out. My current g/f and I seem to be making a good run of it so far (just shy of two years). Just be yourself is the best advice I can ever give. That's all I've ever done, and it seems to work so far.

The one that stopped at my house today looked pretty nice. Didn't look to see if she wore a ring on her left hand or not. Plus, I don't have a (real, full-size) Corvette. And, I think I might be a little too old for her. But, if she can get past the lack of a Corvette, and my older age, I'm open to getting to know her better.
Meh, as long as you can keep her happy *hint, hint* , you're golden.

My haul for today:
1988 issue 1/24 Monogram Buick Grand National. Complete, unassembled for $6 + tax. At an antique mall no less!
Recived my AMT Pacer Wagon build up from DrKerry today. No complaints at all other then it's going to be the hardest build I've ever done. Im going to need a lot of evergreen, and luck

Ugh. Just missed out on another one. This time a '64 Fairlane promo. Granted, the rear wheel wells were radiused, and someone dropped in an engine with huge injector stacks, and the paint/chrome looked bad. But still, it looked so good to me. Oh well??, maybe I'll get the Matador I'm also after lol

Awesome! I just lost out on an eBay auction for the Pacer Wagon. I'm sure I'll buy a few of them. Also happy to see the Meister Braun tractor puller on this list also. Definitely picking up at least one of those.

Oh, I have no aversion to using available technology. I forgot that I had a sniping app on my phone. So I fired it up, imported my watch list, set my bids to 3 seconds and we'll wait and see what happens. I just never used it cause I normally have good luck on ebay. Lesson learned lol
They did you a favor, that kit is in the list to be reissued soon.
Where did you see this? I looked on R2 and on their blog and didn't see a mention of it.
(Edit: Nevermind, I saw the list in the kit review section. Pays to look around.)

Maybe the question is being ignored/unanswered because it doesn't need to addressed in this post. If you're that concerned, take it to PM. That's what it's there for.
Anyways, I've done a few trades on the board in the past month or two and they have gone great. One trade I did with iborg I sent three, and he surprisingly sent me four. His reply to me was that four filled out the box better then three! I was blown away!? Gardnerpag44 is another outstanding person whosee trades have been nothing short of perfect! All others I haven't mentioned have been amazing as well!

Any updates on this build? I'm bidding on a built one at the moment and I've read through this entire post. Very impressed and learned quite a few things that I'll be doing if/when I get this one.

You just gotta keep on trying! Set up an eBay search agent. You will get an email every time one gets listed. I do this whenever I am Jonesing for a specific kit. I stick to my number and eventually I win one. It becomes a game. It's like playing the lottery every day and eventually winning!
Oh, BTW, there is talk of Round 2 repopping the Pacer wagon.

See, I normally do. I know the end times and I'm normally watching the last seconds tick by. But, we started mandatory overtime at work last night (I normally work 4 nights a week, now 5 with the spring season here), and I was tired and slept in till noon today. So, yeah, I missed out.

....when your bidding on a desired model on eBay (case in point a vintage, complete, unbuilt AMT Pacer wagon with a low starting price. Item# 172131966848), and you lose out on it by a stupidly cheap amount ($3.00). Dam, and I really wanted it too.

Stopped by the local antique/junk store on a whim today(never been to this one before) and scored an MPC 'Thunder Wagon' El Camino Monster truck. 100% complete, unassembled, and in sealed bags. For $12, and me not having one, I didn't even even hesitate or haggle the price.

I'm always a few days late in posting. Picked up these two from my local model guy at the flea/farmers market this past Sunday. They were part of a recent built collection he just bought out (he has a ton of others I wanted also). I just needed the body from the Monte Carlo Kit (have a complete kit, just with no body). The Courier was just something I had to have (ALWAYS been a fan of compact trucks) and for a total of $15 ($5 for the Monte, and $10 for the Courier) and both looking like easy rebuilds, I think I scored. Besides, I'm a sucker for built kits.
