The more you build the snap kits the more you find different ways to change things. Nice looking truck you have. Enjoy your next one!

Those are fun kits. Like the black and white combo.
-
Awesome looking combo you got!
-
Like the weathering. It changes the whole look of the model. Great job!

Great color combo. Its nice to see a W-900 Aerodyne turned into just single sleeper W-900.

That's an awesome looking oil field Mack!
-
Looks good JT! A lot of orange and good detail.

Awesome scratch building!

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!

Oh yes for sure, nice rig!!
Round2 needs to reissue this one

I like the air filter set-up and the paint job as well! Truck looks pretty good.

Thank you everyone for the comments and well wishes for the move.
I also painted the air deflector for this kit black. I did not mount it for obvious reasons. I really want to find some logos for this truck and some plates for it. Also I normally build a "first kit" clean to learn the quirks then the next of the same will show a rougher life.
What do you think - should this truck be pulling a Tanker ?
Tanker would look good.

Another classic well done!

Good job on the first build!

You can go to http://modeltruckin.com/wp/
Or you can go to http://www.jbot.ca/welcome.shtml.
Both sites you will be able to find what you are looking for.

I would love to have one of these of my own. It would be nice to see Round2 re issue it!! The ones I've seen on Evil Bay are to much, I mean come on it's just plastic not gold .
Anyways Kevin, nice job on this one!

Wow - what a nice looking truck. I am in awe at all of the detail. I also like the fuel tanks color - very realistic. What paint did you use for that ? Thumbs up for the older headlights !
I need to put this one on my wish list - believe it or not the "air clutch" for the fan sold me
Thanks Sean for the comments. The fuel tanks were painted with Testors model masters Aluminum Plate in a spray can. The next step was a cote of dull cote. This gave it the unpolished aluminum look. I then put bare metal foil over the tank straps. This gives it a more real like look.
The paint for the cab body is Tamiya Light Gun Metal. I try to catch as much detail as I can, like for example the simple thing as the air fan clutch. This gives something else to catch an eye to look at.
All in all its a good kit and I would build another one . Like many others it has its flaws. The main problem with the kit is too much flashing left on the parts. The next one is the tires that Revelle of Germany includes. I installed the Moebius tires on the truck. I should have used the rims as well. The pictures above do not show it, but the spacing between the duels is horrible. It looks alot better though with the Moebius tires for sure.

Cool firetruck. Lots of good details!

Bill, that looks fantastic! I really enjoyed building that kit, I hope you did as well.
KJ, check hobby lobby, they have some 'jewels' that are close to what you are looking for, they are round [sort of], but may work for what you need.
sorry to hi-jack, back to our regularly scheduled topic
Its a good and fun kit for sure. The detail of the model is really good except the tires. Why Revelle went cheap on them is a wonder! .

Great looking rig, Man.....I like the round headlights with this one....And the marker lights are a nice touch.....Kudos to Revell AG.....Very nice....
Yeah for sure. The headlights are from the AMT 352 Peterbilt kit. This one comes with the square lights, didn't care for them so off they went. This also takes it back to the one my dad drove.

Thanks guys for the positive feedback.

Yes for sure! truck looks great for a first build! I started using bare metal foil just a couple of builds ago and I agree with everyone that has mentioned it, the stuff really makes a great job on detail. Everything from door hinges to tank straps. I get mine from Amazon since the local Hobby Town has an issue with ordering it. If you want to find more model trucks check Amazon and Spalding trading and shipping. Sounds like your in the sticks and I've found out that I have more choices ordering online verse going to the store.
Good luck on your future builds!

Good story behind your build. I wish round2 would reissue this kit. I have yet to find one and the ones I have seen, people just want to much money for the kit.
Nice job on the truck!
