Hi all well this is going back in the box and being buried at the very bottom of my stash.

as I was warned the decals are awful and do break up but they also dont stick.

it must be a draught that moved the decal as I hadnt touched the model when I took these pics.

so I have had it with this kit. I was going to do a dio of it on a dereclect street all rusty with weeds growing out of it but with no decals to show what it once was it would be a pointless dio, could be any car with no decals.

Hi all giving up on this paint job its reacted again, so I'm going to do something different with it.

Batman is forgotten all his wonderful gizmos and gadgets have fallen into disrepair, including his trusty old batmobile.

That's going to be the back story on this model now.

So will start tomorrow with a renewed enthusiasm for this build

Ok all I know its been a long time since I updated this but its not been forgotten I have tried mr muscle, modelstrip and even nitromors

and this is what ive got.

I've spent half the cost of the model on stuff to get the paint off. It doesn't show on the pics but there seem to be little holes in the paint that go right into the plastic, I think the paint has bonded with the plastic and actually soaked into it, which is why it wont come off so I think my only option is to sand it and try spraying it again I will just have to live with whatever the results are. its a shame as I was really looking forward to this one.

Thanks for the comments, as I said at thevstart I am considering this finished so I won't be cutting anything, it's in the photos of the car with the monkee's in it that's good enough for me. Apparently there was more than one car built with several differences between them so maybe we are all right.

I you're saying lee but it's really bad of mpc to get the engine placement that wrong I mean 10mm *24 that's 20mm short of 1/2 a metre it seems mpc don't care at all about accuracy not sure I would buy another of their kits.

Hi here is tonights update, been collecting bits for the dio for it can you guess what these will be used for.

thought I had got over the engine problems but as you can see the chassis is where it should be but the engine must be at least 10 mm out I have to fit the blower on there, dont know how to get round this one whether to hack the chassis about or try and move the engine forward some how.

Hi all here is an update on yet another kit I seem to be unable to do a decent job of.





the decal is too big its supposed to fit inside the door and its supposed to say The Monkees not just Monkees, oh and its supposed to be yellow not gold.
none of the engine parts fit correctly there is no radiator or hoses for the engine.
if I cant build a decent model soon I think I will give up altogether.

Hi all thanks for the comments I have been using Halfords grey primer and Humbrol enamels, never had this problem before and I would've thought the oven cleaner I stripped the first lot of paint off would have taken care of the release agent.

Hi all well it's finished (I was going to put HT leads on it but got fed up with them keep falling off so they can stay off)

the rear lights are supposed to have little bullets in them but I like the look without them so left them off.

the top is supposed to be a complete dome but I thought that wasnt very practible so I made it a convertible

Hi all here is where I am at now. wont be finished today as we have family all day so I just sneaked a quick go this morning, only got the light lenses front and rear then the dome to go on and the HT leads, a little touching up where I have not been too neat with my brush painting, so should finish tomorrow.

Nope didn't know that, that's an interesting fact never heard of it other than the Revell model. As you say never liked the colour though.

Well I dont think the new version can be any better than your older one.you need 8 arms and 16 pairs of hands

Think I may do away with the fender decals, as it seems no amout of Micro sol or Micro set will take the wrinkles out of them.
