You can also use thin styrene sheet for your flames!

Try Daytona yellow. You can get it at auto zone it's the big can high temp engine paint. Just a suggestion! I used it on a superbird build and it looks pretty close to your picture. Sam

Pearl white works better with a white primer
-
A small but helpful tip is to use white primer under the pearl white

Yes you can decal then clear just be sure to let the decals dry before you start clearing. Your first coat should be a mist coat. I just painted a shelby mustang with this paint then put one light coat of clear then decals .3 more coats of clear polished between each coat. You want to put one light coat of clear before your decals or you will have a different color around the edges-trust me I learned this the hard way. I used testors one coat clear. Sam

If it was me I would very lightly sand before clear. Any dust that isn't removed before clear May show through. Also use a tack cloth as the last step right before you clear just my opinion. Good luck. Looks great so far!!

Simple green works as well and is not near as hard on your hands. Been using it for years and just stripped a body painted with automotive paint-not dupli-color in about a week

Is this the amt kit? If so have you test fit the bumpers? I have the amt kit & both bumpers have a NICE gap between body/ bumper
