  1. That's what it works best on. In the last two weeks I've stripped four bodies with the stuff.
  2. That musht have been what The Lovely Mrs Snake was watching yesterday. I saw a brief part with a Cobra, Claude Akins, and a woman who was probably Angie Dickinson. Didn't recognize the Cobra driver but I guess that could have been John Cassavetes. Thanks for the heads-up!
  3. Huh. I wonder that's how/why the body on the reissued '72 is so much wider at the rear than the body on the original '70 promo?
  4. Now that looks like the adorable love child of a Karman Ghia and a '49 Ford. Pretty cool, though, especially for 1954.
  5. Sadly, looks like what it got was Barris-Fu. All that's missing is the fender-exit side pipes.
  6. I'm not putting anything back there, but Stupidbird has the whole back seat area open--you could curl up back there and take a nap if necessary. Stupidbird's so big and will have a big enough engine to easily accommodate air conditioning if desired. I don't think I have any spare scale AC units hanging around or I'd include one.
  7. That could be cleaned up and make a pretty sharp looking car.
  8. This is not uncommon. There's an interference somewhere. You just have to find it and fix it. The tub could be hitting the lower edge of the windshield/windows, which themselves might not be fitting into the body shell as closely as they could. The tub itself might be too wide somewhere. Might need to be filed down a little here or there. I just had a similar problem with a JoHan '70 Superbird. The interference turned out to be mainly the left and right forward edges/corners of the dashboard, and also a little with the bottom of the windshield. Didn't take 5 minutes to fix once I'd tracked it down. Good luck!
  9. Good for her! She seems like a good kid and I hope nothing but the best for her.
  10. Huh. I didn't notice/see that when I built mine. Never heard anyone else complain about them, either. Still, gotta be better than the AMT or MPC or Monogram body sides.
  11. Do you have a LHS? If so, see if they have German WWII colors Sandgelb or Dunkelgelb, used on armor. Looks very close to that color.
  12. I have a Jimmy Flintstone SD body somewhere in the Snakepit, but IIRC, last time I looked at it, one side was warped outward noticeably. I might see if I can straighten it out with steam or something. I didn't pay much for it, maybe $10, so won't be out much if I ruin it. IF I can get it in shape, I'll prolly paint it to match a regular wagon I build, so I can use one hood, grille, bumpers, glass, etc for both and just switch bodies as the mood strikes me.
  13. Yeah, I don't buy glue bombs or builtups of currently available kits unless they're in VERY nice shape. If I can get a brand new kit for $18, why waste time trying to fix or rehab a hot mess? Generally I have to figger I can Snake-slap it into presentable shape in 4-6 hours to make it worth my while, although the reality is when I get into one of these projects, I end up with double or triple that in it. Still, I enjoy recycling old junk and raising it up out of ignominy and shame.
  14. Who will be the first among us to build one of these, or a sedan delivery, or even go Full Nomad with the new '63 wagon kit? I'm thinking of giving it a try on a spare Boss Nova body.....
  15. Looks like my college girlfriend's car circa 1976. I'd have lusted after it had it not been a 4-door. She later traded it in on a '74 4-door, which also failed to spin my windmill.
  16. Looking good, both of you! Drive on! GITTER DONE!
  17. The Revell '70 snapper is accurate, although of course it's curbside.
  18. I'd turn that '68 Coronet into a hardtop. Is the Fairlane a '67?
  19. Not really old enough to be what I'd call a "survivor," maybe not even bad enough for "glue bomb" status. That one looks good enough that I think I could "rescue" it enough to sit on my shelf. Only reason I wouldn't buy that one at the local toy show is, I already have a nicely built dark blue one.
  20. I hope Molly's not out of the picture. I didn't see her much if any at the 12-team race (I don't think her Dad raced there), and don't think I've seen her at the Cash Days bash yet. For several seasons she was almost literally JJ's shadow--if he was there, she was right at his side, learning the bidness and I think recording the bets and holding the money.
  21. Interesting! I'd have never guess that was the old Axeman car, what a difference a coat of blue paint makes! I know Ugly Duck suffered a fire of some sort. Saw it on a U2be vid today and it seems to be alive & well but it was being driven by Milk Dud, which really irritated me for some reason.
  22. And straighten out that kink in the left front fender/door while you're at it.
  23. Interesting! I have an Otaki Capri and it is DEFINITELY smaller than 1/24, or even 1/25.
  24. Huh. I thought the Otaki was much smaller. if the Welly is 1/24, then the Otaki doesn't look TOO undersized for 1/25 (I think it's supposed to be 1/28). I might have to dig mine out and actually build it.
  25. I liked it! Don't remember much of the book, except that the first 30 or 50 pages of it was the most boring thing I've ever read, but after that it took off and was pretty good. Just watched The Little Things, brand new movie in theaters today and also streaming on HBO MAX for the next month or so. Pretty good, very entertaining with a couple twists at the end, which are almost always a good thing. It's set in the early '90s so there are quite a few interesting old cars. One of the "star cars" is a minty '68-'72 Nova, possibly a '69 in Frost Green. Very cool.
