  1. Stupidbird's bodywork is done (I hope), so it gets its dark panel line pre-wash. And then its first coat of primer. Shown sitting on a chassis borrowed from the glue bomb stocker that came in the same deal (background). I'm pretty pleased with how the "fixed" nose and the cowl joints came out.
  2. Nice work--looking forward to seeing that finished. Drive on!
  3. And cutting implements of various kinds. And sometimes, a Dremel.
  4. Very, VERY nice--I like this a lot! I'm hoping to get at least one '68 Cougar done this year myself--thanks for the inspiration! Well done and model on!
  5. Me too. But it turns out, it's NOT the ugliest Corvette ever!
  6. I hear ya. I managed to slide another one--maybe even two--very high up on my list already. ADD is a tragic, debilitating disease.
  7. That's kinda what happened to me!
  8. Here's a 1/24 diecast: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Racing-Champions-1999-Hot-Rod-101-57-Chevy-Sedan-Delivery-Limited-Edition-1-24/254740015016?hash=item3b4fb027a8:g:3LYAAOSwVRBfeynV
  9. I'll wait until I see a complete table of contents, with authors.
  10. Finished (I hope!) the final bodywork on the glue bomb Stupidbird, did my black pre-wash in the door and panel lines, and shot the first coat of primer.
  11. What, you have some extras? Sure! Email me at: SnakeACP45 at aol dot com Maybe we can work out some kind of swap. Thanks!
  12. Cool! Is it molded in color? Giving any thought to polishing up that lovely old plastic? Today I received the second package, finally.
  13. Finally received two eBay care packages from early December. First up, a “Nova Junkyard." '65 Rat Packer body that someone has started un-altering the wheelbase on. The work's not complete or clean, but I think there's enough here to work with—body, glass, hood, grille, bumpers. Not sure what I'll do with it—maybe build it up as an extra body for the “Junk Nova” '66 pro street I just started working on. '75/6 Nova: Not sure what year this is, or if it's AMT or MPC, but I've got a body, hood, glass, grille, and bumpers, so I can do SOMETHING with it. Came with an interior tub which seems to be correct, but the body is molded in red, and the tub is white, as is the hood. Hmmmmmm. I've been collecting glue bomb '75-'79 Novas and have three others, so I should be able to scavenge enough goodies to get at least two good projects out of the mess, probably three. This body seems to be one of the best of the four. '72 Nova: Wasn't that interested in this one till I took a good look at it. It might be an original issue, or an early reissue—the body seems in much better shape than the last few reissues I've bought. The Junkyard seems to have a complete interior, and chassis, and most of the chrome sprue including the grille and bumpers. Original builder seems to have gotten the front fenders glued on pretty straight, anyway. I have a glue bomb built as the Old Pro racer that could really use a new body, so I might rebody it with this. The Junkyard also included a Boss Nova '63 wagon body, glass, and bare chassis, but not enough else to work with. Then I got a pair of 1G Cougar bodies, a '68 and a '67 (pretty cheap, too). I've managed to round up all the custom body parts from a '68 (including the hood), so will probablly build one up as a kit custom. I also have a survivor '68 that I built in 1968 that could use a new body, so I'll probably use the '67 body on that. We'll see what they look like after I've paint-stripped them.
  14. Italian Red has more orange in it. Testor Guard's Red is the same as their common #3 red, available in little bottles and spray cans.
  15. There's no really good Nomad kit available, and if there were, you'd have to re-do the whole rear end, as it's completely different between the Nomads and the wagons/SDs. Just realized, OP didn't mention make, just year. I think you could do a '57 Ford SD without too much trouble.
  16. I'm generally against public flogging as a rule, but am willing to listen to other opinions.
  17. Looks like another month where my credit card can take a well-deserved break.
  18. Some great scores, there, congratulations! When are you going to show us some of your finished work? I'd love to see it!
  19. Looks like something Batman might drive to a pimp's wedding.
  20. I hope they revise the grille area, particularly the headlight buckets, if they do, but I'm not holding my breath.
  21. Now I am sad again.
  22. Yes it does. It was probably the cleanest "builtup" I've ever bought on eBay. I didn't do much to it but clean it, chrome the window trim, and detail the wheel covers. Thanks for the kind words!
  23. Finished building the roll cage and did some chassis and glass repair on my Cannonball GB Superbird. Pics in that thread.
  24. Looking pretty good! Drive on!
  25. Some more remedial work on the glue bomb Stupidbird.... There was a large hole in the right front inner fender wall. Short shot? I considered leaving it as "rust damage," then decided it could be easily fixed with pieces of aluminum tape inside and out. There was what looks like a tire burn on the backlite (rear glass); quite a bit of raised "booger" there. I filed it flush and then polished. Still a little gouge there, which I'll probably just live with. Maybe I'll try to cover it with a NASCAR-ish "retaining strap;" what do you think? Spent a good deal of time scraping and sanding parting lines off all the roll cage pieces, and got the thing glued together. Glued the stock seats together. Not my first choice for this use, but I might have to roll with them if I can't come up with something better in the parts box. Next will be to start looking for some suitable wheels and tires. Model on, everyone!
