  1. I have two 3-YO grandsons. One of them understands and respects the concept of "no." The other seems to have real problems with it for some reason.
  2. Indeed they do. I just got the Slixx decals for Dyno Don's. Maybe I'll build it at the same time I'm doing the new Jenkins Vega kit.
  3. Absolutely beautiful model, well researched and expertly executed. VERY well done and model on!
  4. Sounds like a perfect post for the "What Irked You Today" thread; not sure this rates a whole thread of its own.
  5. Not much consolation after damage is done.
  6. Listing says 1/24, and it looks just like my 1/24. ETA: Here's what mine looks like after tampo removal, Snake-Fu, and replacing the grille with a simpler one. Engine is a 427 SOHC IIRC.
  7. That's a good deal for one, a hella deal for both! I have the blue one. It's basically a Pro Street. I took all the black tampo graphics off with nail polish remover, detailed the wheels, etc., and it looks a lot better. Yah, I "destroyed" a "valuable collector's item." I don't care.
  8. Check the rulebook. IIRC the max engine setback for an Altered was 25% of wheelbase.
  9. Challenger's done! More work than a normal "rescue," including stripping and repainting both the body and interior. I see from the pics I forgot a couple final details, like painting the sun visors and doing the fender nameplates, but those aren't big deals. Anyone got a spare convertible boot, or spare taillights?
  10. If you roll through that one, do you get two tickets?
  11. Cosign?
  12. If the inside of your exhaust pipe looks like that, you're running way too rich.
  13. Fire Truck is one of the least obnoxious, least vomitatious "show rods." Knock a bunch of silly junk off it and you could probably make a pretty nice rod out of it.
  14. VERY nice work! Welcome back to the hobby!
  15. All? Almost certainly no. Will some still be good? Very likely. You'll have to open up (or try spraying) each one to see. I'd guess that the majority are still usable. I've got paints 20, 30 years old and even older that are perfectly fine. Others didn't fare as well.
  16. Finished up the '70 Challenger glue bomb I've been rescuing/rehabbing.
  17. There's no option there for ordering this issue. In fact, it says that subscribing will NOT include #207. Want to take another try at it?
  18. Is it possible to order a copy of this magazine? I checked the website and could find no provision for such.
  19. There are ENORMOUS differences between the '68-'70 Javelins and the '71-'74s. They might be the same under the skin but the skin is almost completely different. I'd be surprised if anything but (maybe) the trunk lid carried over to all years.
  20. Sorry you didn't like it. I didn't say it was better, just different. I respect artists who try to come up with a new interpretation of a song and not just karaoke the version we've heard a million times. Apparently these two contestants came up with this original version on their own. FWIW, the judges liked it, and the "loser" of the battle got "stolen," which is pretty high praise on this show.
  21. A few months ago I traded with Ewetwo for an original AMT '66 Corvair "project," which consisted of the body, glued-in glass, custom interior tub, and bare chassis. Most important thing was that the Corsa scripts (and 1966 license plates) were intact. Figgered I'd use it with a much-reissued '69 to get a nice '66 Corsa together. Last week on eBay I bought an original '66 Corvair box filled with original parts, many of them still on the sprues. There's no body, or stock front bumper/headlights or rear bumper or stock taillights; two of the 13" tires are missing as are two of the 13" Cragars. Otherwise it looks likes everything else might be here, including new glass, interior tub, and chassis. I'm pretty sure the complete interior parts are here, as well as the engine and chassis parts. With a little luck, I'll have all the '66 turbo parts which disappeared in the reissues. The body I have needs a bit or work--the glass is glued in so solidly I'll either have to grind it out, work with it in place, or cut the whole top off a reissue body and mate it to this one. A bit of a challenging project, but if it were easy, anyone could do it!
  22. Go back and get some more. Once they're opened, they don't last forever, though my first one did last several months and several models. I'm now on my second one, which I bought several months ago, so they don't go bad "new."
  23. Huh. I looked at the page and couldn't find "out of stock" anywhere. I clicked to add one to my "cart," then tried to see what the cart says, but it won't let me look. Also very weird: Walmart now seems to have a $35 minimum to order. Never saw that before. On the bright side, my local store had four or five of them on the rack this morning. I bought two more, $3.97 each. When you find something that works, stock up while you can still get it.
