  1. For anyone interested, Welly does a VERY nice diecast of this car in 1/24th. I got mine for $10 at Rite Aid.
  2. I was afraid of that. I don't have Hulu and ain't gonna buy it. I have all the episodes of Justified on VHS, it would just be a matter of finding them and putting them in order.
  3. I'd put masking tape on the underside of your brim, make a template or pattern of the brim (draw or or just cut along the edge), transfer that to your cardboard, and then roll up the sides to match the James Coburn photos you posted. Doesn't look like rocket surgery, I'm sure you'll do just fine.
  4. Then it's not "triple black." Triple black means black paint, black interior, black vinyl top. Joe Oldham's '69 Motion Camaro was triple black. Still a nice model, though. If it were 1/24 I'd have to hunt one down.
  5. Very, VERY nice! I like this one a LOT! Well done and model on!
  6. I'm thinking of going back and watching Deadwood again. Also the last season of Game of Thrones. I'd watch Justified again if I could find it anywhere.
  7. Triple black? Is the top vinyl? Looks like regular black paint in the pictures.
  8. I had the same thought, and looking at it again, I'm wondering, if the hat IS a separate piece, is it perhaps on backwards?
  9. Took me a few seconds to realize who it was, and even after that, in some shots, I wasn't 100% certain. Had to google it to make sure.
  10. It looks to me like the hat is sitting a bit high on the bust head, and it looks like the "body" of the hat is good but the brim looks wrong. If I were to fix this, I think I'd razor-saw the whole hat off, take a little off the head, remove the brim from the hat, then make a new brim out of lead foil or something of the kind. But I've never done anything like this before so what do I know?
  11. Watched episode 3 today and who should turn up but the great Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood, Justified)! This IS going to be good!
  12. Very nice, both! Very clean builds. Well done and model on!
  13. Sweet! What scale?
  14. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  15. Emil Faber. "Knowledge is good." RrrrrrrrrRRRRAMMMING SPEEEEEED!
  16. That looks like a fine start on a '66 Conversion. At least the fender vents are right and if the hood has the Corvette logo on it, that's great! You'd still have to convert the rocker trim or add the factory side exhausts. The gas cap won't be right for '66 but that might not matter to some. The Corvette emblem on the rear deck needs to be changed to the '66-'67 style, too. This could be grafted in from a Revell body, or maybe it's available in photoetch. I can't tell what the grille in that set looks like but if it's really for '65, it's the '63-'65 style. The '66 had the "egg crate" grille similar to the '67. The Revell '67 grille could perhaps be adapted to the AMT body.
  17. It might have been the final nail in the coffin of some magazines.
  18. Outstanding work!
  19. THAT'S an improvement!
  20. Yes, a methylene chloride cement would be best IMHO. Instead of cutting strips, glue your hood edge-on to a flat sheet of styrene and then carve it down to shape later. I'm planning to do exactly this to widen the hood of the AMT '55 Bel Air.
  21. Very clean build, thanks for the tips!
  22. I've been watching The Third Day on HBO. Six episodes, the last one will be out next Monday. Very creepy and interesting. Recommended if you can get it. Just started the new season of Fargo on FX. I'm a Chris Rock fan and he's pretty good in this, but don't expect him to make you laugh.
  23. If you want to get one to build, looks like a current version of it is available for about half that (almost certainly no motor). If you just love the box and want the motor, only you can decide if it's worth $65 to YOU. BTW, you might or might not know that Monogram (now Revell) has a 1/32 scale M48 also for less than half that price, and Hobby Lobby usually has it, which means you can get if for 40% off.
  24. Hey Alan, I ever tell you I do a fabulous Mel Gibson impression? It's so good it even works in print. Here ya go: Oil drave thet tinkuh! BTW, I'm STILL trying to find that article about the street rod Fiat. I KNOW I have it somewhere--just cant FIND the thing!
