Please, no more about the controversial film. Please don't get this thread locked or disappeared over politics or personal attacks or whatever. The points have been made. Let's all move on please. Thanks!

Missing Iconic Hot Rods
Snake45 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Apparently it was 1964's "King T." https://www.facebook.com/RRRawlings/posts/the-king-t-was-a-1964-americas-most-beautiful-roadster-ambr-trophy-winner-and-no/694670244021632/ -
#11 is obviously not the AMT kit. What kit is it? Revell?

Wanna Buy a Vintage Funny Car?
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Reading the verbal description, I was reminded of the old story of "George Washington's hatchet." If the head has been replaced three times and the handle replaced four times, is it still "George Washington's hatchet" at all? Doesn't sound like there's much if anything of the original "Colt .45" Mustang altered/funny left except the name. But the history is interesting anyway. -
As my Late Great Dad used to say, "You learn something new every day if you're not careful."

Great fixer-upper on eBay right now, "buy it now" price. https://www.ebay.com/i/254668697529?campaign-id=90001&run-date=20200928081000&templateId=c9bb7c1b-7d13-47db-a41b-43e64b1b36cc&templateVersion=484&co=23&placement-type=mfe.rt1&user-id=43198857264&instance=1601305800&site-id=0&trackingCode=TE79001_T_AGM_CT2&placement-type-name=mfe.rt1&mfe-Id=101243 Pretty good history of the semi-famous "Colt .45" Fiat/Mustang Altered/Funny, and some good detail pics of the vintage chassis. Interesting stuff!

Sorry to hear of your loss, Carl.

I don't believe I've ever seen a white hood patch on a real one. Is that legit?

Very interesting! That's one of the few "silver" paints I haven't tried. I'll pick up a can at Walmart tomorrow! Thanks!

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Coming down to the wire and it looks like we're gonna have even a couple more completions for this record-setting round! About all I have left to do on my Mustang is find, paint, and install some front wheels/tires. BOO-YAH! GETTUM DONE! -
I watched this when it was originally on ABC TV a few years ago. It wasn't too bad at all--at least as good as the highly-praised, silly-ass Scandal. Ran two seasons and then it was cancelled. Has it been picked up by another network?

Missing Iconic Hot Rods
Snake45 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Both the Kookie Kar and Orbitron have now been fully restored, probably to better condition than they were originally. -
It's a Johnny Lightning, bought at Walmart many, many years ago. Metal chassis, so it's quite heavy. I actually like the M2 Mustang fastbacks better, but this one isn't bad at all and held down the slot on my shelf for a LONG time until I got a couple M2s. Here's what it looked like right out of the box:

Wasn't me. I've done that with a couple different bodies but not the '29 Ford.

Kind of gave up on Netflix for a while, got into Discovery Channel. Watched the last two seasons of Street Outlaws and then all four seasons of Memphis Street Outlaws. Then got into Mythbusters and watched about a dozen selected episodes of that. Also found Penn & Teller Tell a Lie and have seen two or three of those. Today I saw the first episode of HBO's Three Days Later. Very weird, unusual, and interesting. Can't wait to see where that goes. I see a new season of Fargo is about to start on FX if it hasn't already. This season stars Chris Rock as some kind of gangster, which should be WAY interesting.

Ron! Where have you been? I've missed seeing your fine WIP work and your excellent finished models!

So it's possible, then, that these molds ended up as the Lindberg '70 Corvette model? (Dunno if I've ever seen one, or if I did, the last time.) https://www.scalemates.com/kits/lindberg-72153-70-corvette-street-machine--1028745

This is now my alltime favorite version of "Lean on Me," performed by this year's America's Got Talent Top 10 finalists. Note that at least four of these acts aren't even singers, though three of them stepped up and sang a line or two in the spirit of the thing. Several of the real singers are absolutely outstanding. The older gentleman (the guy who spent 37 years in prison falsely accused of a crime before being released) might not be the absolute best singer in the world, but there is something very appealing about his voice and he often put me in mind of Louis Armstrong and/or Ray Charles. I hope his future is VERY bright.

As my Late Great Dad used to say, "You learn something new every day if you're not careful." (Not sure that will get them as close together as just supergluing them, though....)
-
This is a great idea! Even better, superglue the two blades together, and use them to cut strips from 3M flexible vinyl tape. Don't use common black vinyl "electrical tape"--the stickum on that stuff will leave a hella mess.

These are a couple of serious Ford model fans, so, high praise indeed! Add mine as well. Model on!

No more about that car, please, as no one is doing it for this build and so it has no place here.
