You didn't even get to Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison!

It's been said this is the Welly. Do you have a Welly to compare it to and confirm? I'd hate to pay $28 for the same thing I got for $10 at Rite-Aid.

Very clean, very sharp build. Well done and model on!

I was wondering when someone would mention them. Well played!

See? Snake's Sure-Fire Find-It Method #2 proven again!

First thing I think of when I think of "supergroup" is Beck Bogart Appice. Which was awful. But I got two other candidates. Here's an impromptu supergoup: Randy Newman, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, John Fogerty, Waddy Wachtel, Paul Shaffer and The World's Most Dangerous Band: And if you like bluegrass/country, hard to get more super than this group:

Very nice! Really looks the part. Model on!

It works almost every time, but quite often it's not worth the subsequent trouble.

A part? I'm currently looking for a whole KIT I bought a few months ago at the toy show. Finally came up with an idea of what I can do with the incomplete mess, and now it's GONE! Have scouted the Snakepit and it's nowhere to be found. I only have three possible recourses to find it: 1. Go buy another one. 2. Give up on it; go looking for something else. 3. Accuse The Lovely Mrs. Snake of throwing it away or moving it.

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
Snake45 replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Bought a couple rifle stocks for a couple classic old .22 rifles off eBay. The first is a very classic Winchester 69A I bought for an amazing price at a local gun shop about 15 years ago, only to discover that its stock had been shortened for a youngster. Been shooting it for years with a homemade extension on the butt, but now I'll be able to restore it to proper appearance. It deserves it--it's a real good shooter and they don't make 'em like that anymore. The second is a Remington 581 from the early '70s. There's nothing wrong with the stock that's on it now, but it was my very first rifle and I want to leave the original stock alone but would also like one slightly customized and reshaped to suit my tastes. Now I can have both. Both stocks need refinishing and some minor dent repair and so forth, but they're both walnut (hard to find on .22 rifles these days) and I enjoy gunstock refinishing work of this kind. Interestingly, both these rifles were considered low-cost in their day, but would be prohibitively expensive to manufacture by today's standards. No plastic or pot metal on either of them (except for the plastic magazine of the Rem 581), just good old-school blued steel and American walnut! -

One of the more tasteful '49 Fords I've ever seen. Well done and model on! -

Will do as soon as you post one finished pic in this thread. BOO-YA! You gonna come in on the next round? I'm sure you have loads of suitable projects. And, the build IS "kinda-sorta" named after you. -
Very high praise from these sources! And you can add mine as well for what it's worth. Well done and model on!
-
Interesting. Also interesting that Welly also makes a '63 Vette coupe and a '70 Challenger. Coincidence?

They built the boobytrap and other systems, so they would have known how to get back in.
