Reminds me a bit of Tricia Wayne's (JJ Da Boss's wife) Heifer. And that's a good thing.

I don't have any Hi-Points. I have a couple Walther lookalikes made by Erma but assembled in the US by Excam and Iver Johnson that I believe have zamak frames, and maybe slides, too. They're both good shooters. I also have a couple Erma-made M1 Carbine lookalike .22 rifles that almost certainly have some zamak in them somewhere. They've also been good shooters. No problems with any of them.

Announcing an all-new book on Model Car Kits....
Snake45 replied to tim boyd's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Huh. I haven't heard a word from them yet about my order. September 27 to November 1? Wow, that's quite a spread. On the positive side, in my experience Amazon usually delivers BEFORE the promised date. Last thing I ordered from them was toilet paper, back at the peak of the Great TP Famine. They gave me a delivery date that was from 7 to 14 days out. My case of TP arrived via UPS the very next day. -
Fabulous! I've wanted to try this for years! Thanks for the preview of coming attractions!

Dan Gurney '69 Trans-Am Mustang
Snake45 replied to Phildaupho's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
Very nice work! Now that the Revell '69 Boss 302 with its improved front end is available, you might want to consider picking one of those up and swapping on the front end parts. -
Tree House is the same product as Krylon, just with a different name/label on it.

Very, VERY nice, and very similar to something I've wanted to build for a long time. That blue looks perfect! What's the paint?

The era of gassers and street freaks
Snake45 replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My latest completed build is a '66 Mustang Street Freak, circa early '70s. And come to think of it, my last completed build of 2019 was a Street Freak '66 Chevelle. -
Wasn't looking for it at all, but I ran across what looks like a complete, intact built survivor original issue AMT Car Craft Dream Rod on eBay for an insanely low price. Put in a very modest bid and got it. Icing on the cake is, it comes with a built mild custom AMT C2 Vette roadster (can't really tell the year from the photos). Both of them AND shpping and tax were just less than one current kit would have cost me at Hobby Lobby with the 40% off coupon. Can't beat a deal like that with a stick!

At least some of them are. I think maybe all of them might be.

I have several firearms with Zamak parts up to and including the frames. Have never had any problem with any of them. I guess the alloy composition is more carefully controlled in the firearms industry than in the "toy" bidness.

Now I am sad.

40% off all model kits at HL
Snake45 replied to gbdolfans's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't think it's going away, I think it's just they changed the formula for some reason and it sucks now. Others might know more though. -
Different and therefore interesting!

Very VERY cool, you're making me want to dig mine out and build it! Well done and model on!

Ollie's strike again
Snake45 replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Checked mine out today. Nothing I had to have. Only car was that '48 Ford. Bunch of those stagecoaches and big Ts, though. -
What non-auto model did you get today?
Snake45 replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I couldn't find any cars or airplanes I needed, so I got a Tamiya M41 Walker Bulldog and a reissued ex-Aurora M46 Patton (built it as a kid). $24 out the door for both of them, not horrible by 2020 standards. -
One of my favorite covers of all time:

I heard Glenn Beck saying good things about the show the other day, and it got me interested in seeing it. Is it available on Netflix?

Huh. I ordered mine a couple weeks ago from Amazon and haven't heard anything from them about it yet. -
Very nice! Looks like you wrestled many of this kit's problems into an acceptable appearance. Well done and model on!

Very nice, very sharp, very clean build! Well done and model on!

Paint project/experiment 67 Corvette convertible
Snake45 replied to randyc's topic in WIP: Model Cars
If you still want to do white, I'll send you a white body and hood no problem--I bought several of these kits CHEAP last year just for parts. I would need your red hood in exchange, as one of the "parts" I wanted these for is that stinger hood. Let me know -
I hear that all the time (not just in hobby shops, either), and that's what I say, too--"I can order it. I was hoping you had it today, and was prepared to pay your price for it right now."
