  1. Just for your information: If I lived in your area, I would still be buying what kits I could at HL at 40% off. BUT I would ALSO be buying from you plenty of paints, tools, decals, glues, supplies of all sorts, and kits that HL doesn't sell, so you'd still be making a buttload of money off me.
  2. That is exactly why I sent them to him.
  3. I dunno. I found a bunch of pics online that were very very similar, maybe a shade darker. Not worth repainting. Chevy might offer this very color for 2021, who knows? BTW, mine is a darker blue than the one pictured above. Way darker.
  4. I've been looking forward to that issue. A net friend of mine is building one of the Bearcats in the buildoff, and I'm interested in seeing it. Hope I can find a copy locally.
  5. Why repaint it? The paint is fine and looks good. Not gonna worry about the interior. Just did some research and I can only find 3 things to Snake-Fu: Front side lights/turn signals amber; black exhaust tip internals, and matte black on the glossy black plastic grille parts in the front end.
  6. At Walmart yesterday I saw another permutation of M2's '65-'66 Mustang Fastback. This one is labeled a '66 but has a '65 GT grille, is all black, with with big Hurst (shifter) logos on the sides. Don't remember what the wheels/tires were but I remember thinking they were pretty cool. I'd have bought it except I already have three other M2 Mustang I already I like better.
  7. Got the Nova grille and taillights in the mail yesterday, THANKS SO MUCH to Jack L and ChrisBCritter, my New Best Friends! I'll be driving on with this project in the very near future thanks to these two GOOD GUYS!
  8. Had occasion to go to the Walmart across town today and they had these in red and blue. I got a metallic blue one--the paint job looks pretty good. Now to do my net research so I can what I have to do to Snake-Fu it.
  9. Ah, now that you mention it, I think I see the the (white?) catalyst tube hiding in Ace's picture. I got my stuff at Wally's, and the tube looks identical to the tube in the picture.
  10. Are you sure this is catalyzed polyester? I've been using it for about a year now and it seems like a regular "nitrostan" putty to me, albeit a very high quality one. I'm pretty pleased with how it works.
  11. Apparently. It's in their standard print and internet weekly ad.
  12. Got an email from Diecastmodelswholesale announcing some interesting, affordable, and "right scale" stuff this morning: Welly Porsche 959, red or yellow, $14.99 Welly Mercedes AMG GT, red or yellow, $14.99 Welly Porsche 911, cream or gray, $14.99 Welly Mercedes 22, red or cream, $14.99 Welly '63 Mercedes 230SL coupe, red or cream, $14.99 Welly BMW M1 coupe, red or white, $14.99 Welly '64 Mustang coupe, red, $14.99 Motormax '55 Nomad, yellow, $14.99 Motormax '58 Impala convertible, light blue, $14.99 Motormax '67 Corvette roadster, red, $14.99. (I have one of these and it's kinda okay but by no means great.)
  13. Purely for entertainment: Casting possibilities for a Tiger King movie: https://www.elle.com/culture/movies-tv/a32131953/tiger-king-cast-vs-real-life/
  14. Either rubbing alcohol or household ammonia will make Future simply disappear.
  15. The Color Place primer is GOOD stuff! Did my own tests with it a couple years ago. One wet coat of their gray, followed by one wet coat of their white (primer) completely blocked Monogram red plastic ('65 Mustang 2+2). Sadly, Walmart doesn't seem to carry it anymore. I stocked up last time it was available at their website, 6 cans of each. I've been working with Touch N Tone primers, which are also cheap (around $3/can), but so far haven't tried a white over red test. Having good luck with the black and the gray so far. I think this stuff MIGHT be the same paint as the Walmart Color Place, but can't state that for a known fact. I was unable to find the maker of the DG Miracal paint last week, and I looked for a while. Apparently it's only made in very limited colors anyway.
  16. Oh my! I did not see THAT coming!
  17. One of the local radio stations is running ads saying how advertising on their joint can help your business "get back to the new normal." Something about that phrase just ain't right.
  18. In the '90s, I worked at a place where a retired VN-era West Pointer was my supervisor. He had his teenage build of this model sitting on his bookshelf. I often coveted it but never mentioned it. Would be fun to build this kit and display it with one of the three P-51Ds (Cavalier) that the Army procured at the time to fly chase in their test program.
  19. Very, VERY nice, especially the paint and finish. Not sure I love the red stripe, but otherwise, fabulous all around! Well done and model on!
  20. I've seen several USCG models built using MM Chevy Engine Red for the red, and they looked good. And the builders said it seemed to be a good match, too.
  21. I don't know what that means.
  22. Cool one! I always described that show to friends as, "It's Castle if Castle were the devil."
  23. I notice in the ad they've got markers on sale this week too, so maybe Molotows will also be cheap.
  24. August 29--end of the week.
