The argent-painted Mag500s were standard on all '69 SS396s AFAIK. BUT if you had ordered your car with COPO 9737, it would have come through on 15x7 Rallys (like the Yenkos). I've never seen or heard of a "regular" '69 SS396 ordered with COPO 9737, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. It's very theoretically possible. If the no-trim-rings thing bothers you, use Rallys and tell 'em your model is a rare COPO 9737.

Your rear bumper fix looks good, but I won't be able to live with that gap between the bumper and the end caps. I'll have to plug that with some styrene or something. Drive on!

I'm pretty sure I saw the kit at my HL Saturday too.

Very clean work! Well done and model on!

Very nice, both! Thanks for showing them both together, I think this is the first time we've seen a direct comparison. Well done and model on!

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Very cool! I think the last reissue of that Camaro is molded in a pearly green kinda like that color. I bought one but haven't opened it yet. -
Yes, please! Email me at SnakeACP45 at aol dot com and we can make arrangements. Do you need those Buick wheel covers? I can't imagine ever using them. Thanks!

Bought this one off eBay. '63 or '64 Nova. Complete with custom parts installed, except missing grille/headlights (I have the custom rear pan, just not shown here). Never painted except for the engine compartment. All emblems/trim/nameplates intact and sharp. Doesn't look like the windows have been "death glued" in. The one-piece chassis is charmingly simple: The 6-banger is present and seems to be complete, including the custom 2- carb setup: I know there are those here who would love to clean this one up and display it as the true survivor that it is, but it's not my style at all. I'll raid a Rat Packer for the stock grille and front and rear bumpers, scrape off the jive-time decals, and build it up as a late '60s-early '70s "high school hot rod." Still thinking about color. The right fender skirt popped right off with virtually no damage underneath. The left one was a bigger problem, and there's some glue damage in the worst possible spot: right at the lower part of the curve at the front edge of the wheel opening. Looks fixable bit it will be tricky. Amazingly, it looks like I'll be able to save both rocker trim panels.

Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....
Snake45 replied to Dave Van's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yah, Walmart had a few of them three or five years ago. I bought a '69 Camaro, and a P-51 Mustang that's something like 1/67 scale. -

There were also several somewhat nice stock-ish 1/32 street cars. I can think of '55 Chevy, '69 Camaro, a Nova, '68-69 GTO, maybe a '34 Ford, a Cobra. I wouldn't mind having a few of these. They're getting hard to find. -
Some interesting stuff there! A few are worth cleaning up and displaying as-is. Others are worth major rebuilding effort.

That roll bar will do a great job of protecting the battery!

Ollie's strike again
Snake45 replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not one single model kit of any kind at my Ollie's today, not even a Lindberg Raccoon Skeleton or whatever undesirable thing you can think of. -
Hobby Lobby re-opening
Snake45 replied to Mike999's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Mine had all the "new" kits everyone mentioned, no clearance kits, none of those particular kits at any price. Couldn't fine anything in the whole store worth standing in the long checkout line for today, not even with the coupon. -
We all used it back in the '60s, but IMHO it's way substandard for the 21st Century. I'd rather see an unwired engine than one wired with sewing thread today. Just my opinion, worth exactly what you paid for it.
