  1. Very nice indeed!
  2. '72 side marker lights were same place they were on '70. If you're talking about front marker lights under "bumperettes," I think you mean the Rally Sport front end, which was pretty much the same on all Camaros '70-'73.
  3. Cool! If you're going to cut out the kit body deck lid, may I have it? I need it for a trunkless '61 I'm trying to restore.
  4. It's a Chevy, it's clean, and it sits right. What's not to like?
  5. Or a '65 4-4-2/Cutlass/F-85.
  6. How about a '64-'64 Buick Skylark/Special? You could put me down for at least three or four.
  7. Pretty much my story. I guess I lean toward GM, mainly Chevy, but they all made cool cars back in the muscle era. I'm partial to almost all Barracudas and the '68-'69 B bodies, though.
  8. I've had that with some of their colors, not with others. Recently I had it with their semigloss black, which stayed tacky for several days.
  9. Not really, because the entire roof and rear quarters are completely different between hardtop and sedan.
  10. Your pic of the real one seems to be a '72 in Spring Green (which Pontiac also used and called Julep Green). I've been interested in and looking for this color for a while, as I want to use it on a '72 GTO and maybe a '72 El Camino. Krylon has a green in their "sparkle" line that's a near-perfect match in color, but much too flaky/sparkly. Guess I'll have to give up and order the real stuff from MCW or someplace. Your build is looking good, BTW. Drive on!
  11. "Get rid of"? Sorry, I don't understand the concept....
  12. That's because it has a small-block Chevy engine.
  13. My Michaels had three or four of them. At first I was happy because I thought they were the rare and desirable '30s. Ah shucks oh well.
  14. Yes, absolutely. Model airplane and tank builders do this routinely. I've used various types of flats and satin clears for this, both rattlecan and airbrush. Nearly all have worked well.* I would strongly advise against trying to put on a clear flat with a brush, though. When in doubt, experiment with some plastic spoons, interior tub undersides, and so forth. *Within just the last couple weeks, I have used both Rustoleum Flat clear and Krylon Semigloss Clear--or was it the other way around?--over cheap Walmart Flat White primer with perfect results.
  15. I had to look it up: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C4%85czki Never heard of them. But it sounds like the tradition of fasnachts, which are only available on Shrove Tuesday. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasnacht_(doughnut) Aw shucks, now I'm hungry!
  16. I've seen ten thousand fad Ts, but don't think I've ever seen this color combination before, so congrats on coming up with something NEW!
  17. What you have learned here is that your thermostat isn't close to accurate. 110* shouldn't faze model plastic at all. In fact, I had my whole collection stored in an attic that would get hotter than THAT and never had any damage whatsoever.
  18. Daddyfink, you are making me CRY right now, and I'm sure I'm not the only one!
  19. I didn't catch it at all until they mentioned it on TD. But unlike Chris Hardwick, I DID know immediately what Andrew Lincoln was talking about when he mentioned Star Trek in his comments about the Garbagedome scene. (He also mentioned Star Wars, Road Warrior, and Gladiator, all of which inspired that scene.)
  20. Good heavens! Retail on that would have to be close to $100 these days.
  21. Regardless of your problems, you did a great job with it. Improvise, adapt, overcome! Well done and model on!
  22. I just google-imaged some real '68 RR taillights and now I understand what's going on there. I'd just never noticed the black surround to the backup light before, so...never mind!
  23. It's Cratex. I've never used it on plastic, either. I bought a kit of the stuff a couple decades ago for gunsmithing work. The stuff is hella expensive. I don't know how it would work on plastic, hand-held. In a Dremel, I imagine it would work the plastic but I think heat would be a problem. I've never been tempted to try Cratex on plastic, though I did try to engine-turn some foil with it once, with mixed results.
  24. Very, very nice indeed! I didn't follow along on the Workbench thread, so I don't know, but what's up with the taillights? Is that some kind of modernized "blue dot" effect you were going for? Whatever, it's still a great, very clean build! Drive on!
  25. That's the only/closest thing that was available to me at the time. I did have some wider ones (as seen on the orange streeter), but they were too wide for MP rules.
