  1. Interestingly, I just bought a glue bomb JoHan '71 S&M JUST to use the body on a Revell '70, as I think it's more accurate. I'd send you the '71 grille from it, but it's molded into the body and I'm pretty sure I'll have to destroy it to get it out. But if you want a nice '71, you might want to look for a glue bomb JoHan and use it with the rest of the Revell parts.
  2. I might have to get the Lancia Stratos. Missed that one last time around, and I wanted one because I saw a real one painted a color very similar to '70 Mopar Sub Lime.
  3. Nothing wrong with a clean curbside. PLUS, it's always fun to see what you can make from leftovers, junk, and "found parts." Much RESPECT, mah brothah!
  4. Home Improvements '55 Nomad?
  5. That kit has its problems, but there's no disputing that you did a nice job with it. Model on!
  6. I believe all the front-engine First Gen AMT funny cars had interchangeable chassis. There were at least two different types of front suspensions, but I think all the wheelbases were the same (TOO short) and you could pretty much put any of those chassis under any of those bodies with few if any problems. Interior tubs were different, of course. In your hanger shot pic, I see the stock (promo-type) chassis, and what looks like the full chrome tree from the annual. (I don't recall that any of the FCs came with two complete sets of wheels.) The stock engine seems to be there, too. The humped hood is from the original annual. Man I'd love to have that hanger shot. I could make SOMETHING from it--could graft on the roof from a Revell Z16 and even if the full stock interior's not here, I could make some kind of a street freak out of it.
  7. I think only one of those is a TV show.
  8. Funny this should come up. Was just thinking about it the other day. Here's my list of TV (NO MOVIE) cars, in no particular order: Original Batmobile Monkeemobile General Lee Kooky's T Munster Koach Starsky's Torino Olds VistaCruiser (That '70s Show) Fred Sanford's truck, whatever it was. A-Team van The various Route 66 Corvettes. I reserve the right to bump/replace a couple if the mood strikes me. If we're allowed cartoon cars I'll take George Jetson's flying bubbletop over the Fred Flintstone Flyer.
  9. This is a case where Google-image is your friend. Shouldn't take you more than about 20 seconds to be looking at multiple photos of fully restored '69 Super Bee engines. --Snake, Part-Time Fishing Instructor
  10. How about the carbs in the AMT '65 Chevelle wagon? I'm certainly no expert but they look like they could be 4cgs to me.
  11. Great thread! I've built the 308 and the Carrera. Both came out super-nice and my only complaint with either was I thought the back tires on the Carrera are way too small, but I could fix that if the mood strikes me. I have the 928 new in the box and hope to build it sometime soon for my "polished plastic" (molded in red) collection. (I painted the other two.) I'd buy a couple more from this series if they ever came back.
  12. I kinda like it!
  13. It looks fine! Drive on and finish it!
  14. I doubt they perma-modified the 150 body. Probably just came up with a couple Bel Air side tools.
  15. Do we know if he got his monitor/online problem sorted out?
  16. The world would be SUCH a much better place if everyone would just keep that in mind!
  17. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! If it didn't, I bet a lot of us were thinking it, or something very similar.
  18. Oh that is just gorgeous. Falls into the category of "I Wish I'd Built That"--just about my highest compliment!
  19. Well, my original 1966 build is now sitting on wheels again for the first time in at least three decades, possibly four. Took some "Before" pics before the real cleanup and restoration begin; hope to start a Workbench thread in the next few days. The trick with a true "survivor resto" job like this is to not go TOO far and end up with a complete rebuild. I keep having to tell myself, "If I wanted it to look NEW, I could just build a new one." They're only original once!
  20. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I've come to the conclusion that the plastic in spoons is NOT the same as the styrene in models. I think the spoon stuff might be tougher.
  21. I found the original engine last night. Not that the thing really needs it, you know. I just drove on with a new chassis. Got it painted today, got the flash and stubs trimmed off a set of new wheels, and found four suitable tires in the pile. So can have the thing back on wheels very very shortly.
  22. That "air screw" thing would never work. Unless you hooked two of them onto a common platform, preferably rotating in different directions. And even then, probably not.
  23. Every time I go looking for something in the Snakepit, I found other cool old stuff I'd forgotten about (though usually I don't find what I as originally looking for). Happened to me again today. Among the things I found today was a set of wheels I'd been looking for a month ago. I ended up driving on without them, but I'll use them on something else eventually.
  24. He came up with an unnecessarily complicated solution to a problem that wasn't really that big a deal to start with? Could Leonardo have been part German?
