As we've discussed here before, "wheel covers" and "hubcaps" are two different things, though "hubcaps" is often misused for both. I'm very familiar with "backlight," but have never heard "rear screen."

Funny how often we hear things like this, isn't it? And yet no one ever seems to come up with any actual evidence of such discrimination.

Well, twice I've failed to get a nice job simply and solely because I was a white male, and was told that flat-out and straight-up by the HR director. (Have no idea if I ever failed to get a job for that reason and wasn't told it.)

The only other pic I've seen, besides the one I posted, is a B&W in the Squadron/Signal book U-2 In Action. IIRC, it's from fairly close, pretty much just the front fender and door area of the left side. I might have scanned it on my home computer--I'll try to remember to look for it tonight.

I wish I'd bought several of these Ford 427 engines when they were readily available. Is there still a source for them at reasonable prices?

Your work is absolutely outstanding. It might look more "natural" with the wheelbase stretched to the El Camino's 116", but after you look at it a while, your "shorty" look begins to grow on you. Well done and keep us posted on these! You're making me wonder what a '68-'69 GTO Elky would look like. Too bad there are no readily available 1/25 '68-'69 GTO bodies available, except for the Super Judge funny car (which is, conveniently, still 100% factory stock). Drive on!

Yeah, many cars of that day had a very slight "nose up" stance. Notice I said VERY slight. I suspect a good deal of it might have been caused by "junk in the trunk."

I assume you mean UK backlight? Backlight is also in common use here in the US. I've often used it here myself on this very forum.

Well I checked my Box of Misfit Camaro Parts (two of them, in fact) and I don't have one in there--just Firebird wheels from that issue. But I have at least one AMT '70 Chevelle bought JUST to break up for parts*, so if that has it and it will work for you and you don't have one, you can have it. *It's probably going to be losing its headlight lenses to a certain '68 El Camino very, very soon.

You might be able to make out the MPC Camaro wheel in this pic. Would that work for you?

MPC '69 Camaro wheel is kinda-sorta in the ballpark. I MIGHT have one in my box of random leftover Camaro parts. Don't forget, you might well also need to prime your plastic with a primer that can stand up to "hot" paints. If not sure, run a test on sprue or the underside of an interior tub or something of the sort.

I think "estate wagon" is British for "station wagon." The Brits also have "shooting brakes" and "saloons," but I forget what type of cars those are. Help? Also, "windscreen" is pretty universal in America for the windshield on an airplane. What do US boat people call this piece of glass?

FABULOUS idea! And if you look a little, you can find the post-it adhesive in glue sticks. You could make your own "post-it masks" from paper, foil, even thin plastic to whatever length or odd shape you might need.

I got two. The Woody and Hearse don't do a thing for me, but I'm going to do one as a dune buggy (per AMT's own limited reissue of the thing), and the other as a cruising roadster of my own design. I might even just build one of them, setting it up so I can "Switcher" the street body on and off as the mood strikes me.

I'm planning to buy one. The Silhouette "stock" does nothing for me (which is why I've never bought that kit before), but I'm looking forward to the challenge of seeing if I can make it into something more to my own tastes.
