  1. I know it is a long shot, but I figured maybe someone here might know of one. I have a curbside kit, and would like to add an engine to it. http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server2400/89ffd/products/4137/images/27768/HC_07_a__41485.1401707250.1280.1280.jpg Few years I would not have expected anybody making an aftermarket engine for this tiny, ugly-but-cute car, but with so many modelers out there (especially in the 3D printing world) are making all sorts of parts for all sorts of models.
  2. Exactly. I should have mentioned in my earlier post that Marcos' building and painting skills are superb. The toyish appearance in not due to anything he did. It is OOB build.
  3. Nicely done! But where is the bed? Remember the saying "if the van's rockin' don't come knockin'"?
  4. If you didn't glue them, why not just remove them, place them over some 220 grit wet-n-dry sandpaper and sand them down. Just hold the emblem under your finger, and gently move it back and forth. I have sanded down items like these. I mentioned 220 because 150 might be too "grabby", and 330 would take a lot of sanding to get the thickness down.
  5. Yes, Future is the name most modelers use for the household clear floor finish formerly known as "Future". That was its name for decades until some marketing people decided to rename it, and keep on renaming it every few years. Go figure . . . Even Swanny has a hard time keeping up with all the changes: http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html
  6. Interesting - thanks! it expires soon - need to go and watch it while you can. LOL! Size "large"? Good luck finding someone here who will fit in that one. Most of the boomers here are XL and up! I know, I am one. I have few black Pink Floyd T-shirt I bought at Walmart over the years, for less than $10 each. When I wear them, I often get compliments. Quite a few from late-teens and twenty-somethings. Good to see that generation embracing Pink Floyd (not just BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH music). Maybe there is still some hope . . .
  7. But there is always a small print stating "do not attempt - professional drivers on a closed course" (or something similar), to protect their rear ends. It is dumb! What they are selling? Excitement, adrenaline rush, machismo. Typical marketing methods which appeal to their target audience. You won't find this type of ads for Lincoln SUVs.
  8. Cassette? Dude, you're not that old. Vinyl LPs and 8-track tapes came before cassettes.
  9. Thanks!
  10. Yes the soda can aluminum is very springy (tempered?). The disposable baking sheets are much easier to deal with, but still have some nice stiffness to them.
  11. While every generation seems to lament that the world is "going to the dogs", I think things have reached pinnacle this time. Partially blame social media for this. If there was no FB, Twitter, and YouTube, none of this would likely happen. Signed: borderline boomer.
  12. I do like the unusual color. It does have an "industrial" (but eye-pleasing) look.
  13. Aluminum is a soft metal. Thin sheet like soda cans or disposable baking sheets can easily be cut with regular scissors. Even the slightly thicker aluminum flashing can be cut with scissors (although it requires more effort). But (as said earlier), be careful as the edges are very sharp.
  14. What brand/type of clear coat? What is the clear-to-thinner ratio? Just saying "clear" does not provide acomplete picture.
  15. Couple of days ago I watched "Classic Albums: Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon" on PBS. What a great documentary! Lots of old footage of the band and lots of interesting tidbits I didn't know about the album and about the band. I like it so much that I wanted to see if it was available on DVD. I learned that the British "Classic Albums" series is not new (started in the nineties), and evne thisepisode was several years old. I did find it on DVD and I just bought it on eBay. Highly recommended for any Pink Floyd fan. I like most of their music, even their strange excursions.
  16. I'm wondering if it is (or the master) 3D printed. It is also strange to see the wipers included with the body. Maybe they are separate, and just placed there to show how they look?
  17. Like the white one seen in the background of the photo in the initial post?
  18. A new car with an eye-pleasing and not grotesquely exaggerated body shape paying homage to the original car. I like it (but I also liked the original). This also shows how timeless the original design was.
  19. Looks great! Is this a Nichimo or Hasegawa kit?
  20. I make purchases on eBay, and I have not noticed any long delays between when I pay and when the item is shipped (and I always use PayPal). But even if this is a problem and buyers were to complain, I doubt eBay would change their policy. The only way I see that happening would be if the buyers (and sellers) stopped (boycotted) using eBay, and that ain't happening.
  21. Well AU$ is only worth abut 0.71 US$, so AU$60 is $42 American. Still a bit high, but not as bad as it appears without the conversion.
  22. Eh, don't worry about it - the "big hands" behind the curtain seem to have taken care of things. It is all good now.
  23. Due to the way 1:1 spokes are interlaced there is no way to accurately represent them using photo-eched spoke wheels, but 3D printing technology is capable of producing interlaced spokes. Few months ago I asked Randy at Model Builder's Warehouse if he would consider producing 3D printed wheels for this model, and he seemed receptive to the idea. Hopefully he will eventually offer them for sale.
  24. Thanks Mike!
  25. I've heard that they are not producing those farm kits due to licensing issues.
