I'm still getting my new model room set up so ain't had a chance to get back to the builds I had in progress. Although I don't have any of my hundreds of old builds anymore, I still have photos of some I liked. I believe this Z28 was a 1980 Monogram kit, but not sure. It was in my display case for many years and the decals had faded some when I took these photos circa 2013 or so.

Love it! I built that kit many years ago and dont remember having any issues with it. Great color combo.

Nice work. Where do you find these models you rebuild? I've bought a few built models on eBay. Some were pretty nice and didn't need any work. Some that weren't so nice were "crashed" and used in my dioramas (http://www.shamblesmodels.com/dioramas.html)/
Keep up the good work!

Outstanding build. I build one of these many years ago, but it didn't turn out nearly as good as yours.

Don't beat yourself up. You did a great job with a mediocre kit. I've built several '57 over the years and, if my memory serves, the best kit was by Monogram. That was my favorite brand over all.

Impressive!

Beautiful!

Although I kept my models in display cases, some didn't fair that well over the decades. This one was showing some age. I used rubber bands through the holes in the base of the Johan cases to secure the models in place. Over the years, this caused the wheels to splay outwards on some. On the race cars, I guess I could claim it was extreme camber for track...

Nice work. Looks like it turned out great to me.

Nice work. The '53 Ford is my favorite too. I don't believe I've ever built one of those.

Love me some Buicks. I tried a couple of resin body kits but didn't have good results. Yours are impressive.
A cover band I played in back in the mid 70s had a 4 door version of this car that the 4 of us took to gigs rather than our personal cars. Very comfortable, quiet ride. The sound guy and roadies went ahead of us in the truck. I know they were a little jealous of our big cruiser!

Cool. Never seen a custom Lark. Was that a Johan kit?

Yeah, I caught the Monte bug in my early 30s. I guess my favorite was the 1974 "Monster Monte" with the factory 454, gauge package and swivel buckets. I kept the original finned wheels but put some Z28 rims painted black on it and added a couple of 454 emblems. Wish I'da hung on to that car!

I've built hundreds of kits starting when I was a kid back in the late 50s. I sold off my entire collection when I moved a couple of years ago, except for this Corvette. No BMF or pad printed white letter tires back then. I keep a few photos of my old builds on my website: http://www.shamblesmodels.com

Thanks for the responses. I bought that built kit on eBay. It was a fairly nice build but coming apart. At the time, I was doing my salvage yard diorama and had quite a few wrecks in it. I'll post some more photos of wrecks when I get through with remodeling at the house. Hope to have room for some more dioramas too.

I've never tried a pre-painted kit but I will. Yours looks outstanding!
