  1. Hi, I just noticed the Fujimi 1/20 Tyrrell P34; http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10300654 I wonder how it compares to the Tamiya 1/20 P34? Also there is Ebrro Tyrrell; http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10285947 I know Tamiyas 1/12 003 is very cool. Curious if any one has seen these models?
  2. Old thread but I thought to post in the event some one recently read this thread. Kevin with Strada is very very cool and has had to deal with my order changes/mods w/o issue. I'm very happy stores like his are around so be rest assured Strada is a very very good retailer. You'll wait a bit but well worth it. If you need something ASAP, then you'll order else where and pay more as time is money.
  3. Killer info, thanks all very much. Very appreciative.
  4. Many thanks for the reply. These are lacquer based paints so hopefully not.
  5. Hi, Unfortunately I have to leave town for 2 weeks while in the middle of body painting. The paint in question is a Tamiya TS spray paint, when I come back 2 weeks later to apply my final coats, do I risk paint peel of paint chipping that I've been reading about here and there? Thanks in advance.
  6. Thanks Aaron, much appreciated.
  7. Cool deal, I'll do a test assembly of the chassis to frame w/o glue and see about seams. Its a Fuji Ferrari 330P4 which so far, looks pretty tight in terms of parts precision.
  8. Hows this look; http://www.walmart.com/ip/Portable-Hobby-Airbrush-Paint-Spray-Booth-Kit-Exhaust-Filter-Extractor-Set-Model/38431803
  9. Hello most esteemed fellows, How do you approach painting the body, during or after construction? I was pondering painting certain parts of the body during construction tasks that would normally be hard to mask off later. And then doing the body once construction is over and masking stuff like windows, headlights, etc... is done. Or do you simply paint the entire body before construction and touch up later on? Thanks in advance.
  10. Stunning, a pro build for sure. Simply superlative!
  11. Doh, ok cool. Thanks again. Actually you are right, the H12 is the Gunze color and 33 is Mr Color. Jeeeze, how do you guys know all this?
  12. Ok, 1 more question, so when it says H[12] 33 is that H12+H33 at 1 to 1 being flat black + russet? Seems like an odd color not to mention a fortune in paint? The example I gave is the 5th down in the color direction link I posted.
  13. Ahh, ok cool thanks a lot guys. After a more closer look at the instructions, I see various call outs and referenced them to actual photos of the car to verify that's what they meant. Plus a little common sense as well. For example the center cap of the steering wheel has H4 (yellow) next to it and the steering wheel itself has H12 (flat black) next to it and those combos make sense to me. Ok cool, very excited in starting to understand this now. Thanks again for such a quick response. I kinda feel like this is "The Modelers Tech Support Hot Line"
  14. Hi, I've the Fujimi 330P4 and can't make heads or tails about the paint directions. The direction in question is here; http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10077972t/60/1 For example, the very first line says; H4 4 YELLOW What parts are yellow? And what does the last line mean HA H8 + H9 (1:1) Thanks in advance.
  15. Hi, I've found that the Chillout Lounge podcasts works well for me. In particular, the Immaculate and Rise mixes. Really cool DJ from across the pond.
  16. Woe, cool manual. I'm reminded what a tremendous effort it is to create something repeatable and marketable. Then there is the some times daunting task of documentation. For a larger company sure its reasonable but for ma&pa like HRM and Replicas & Miniatures Company, its a huge task. And I might add they seem to do it better
  17. This was also what I read in "Porsche the fine art of the sports car", very good book by the way. I actually had a 914 4 banger bought off s single owner retired who never drove it. Too bad I sold it a few years later
  18. Yes JBW, I succumb to your wisdom
  19. Normal feverish bids happens closer to ending day and not days prior to auction end. To say that these ppl are new to auctions and don't know how to bid is off as the info on successful bidding is out there and eBay has been out since 96' I think. At least that's when I got on it. So plenty of time has passed for ppl to get good at bids. Plus if you look at the bidders rank, they've been around and know what they are doing. I usually abandon these kinds of auctions straight away. And I'm glad you asked as I hope my logic helps others who frequent eBay.
  20. Oh man, my mom had pet pigs growing up on a farm in Bosnia and absolutely loved em. Dogs weren't/aren't big in that area so pigs it was! Can you post some pics of Oscar?
  21. I've found those lil ones to be hard as pets. How so you may ask, well, lemme tell ya... My wife and I wanted a lil one for some reason, unsure as we are mostly dog ppl, but love a good cat or 3 here and there. So we go down to the pet store, pick up a cuty and about a 2 days later, noticed him in agony. It was because his inards were getting outards if you will. And no it was not hemorrhoids. So we return to the store which also had a pet clinic and come to find this is common as these lil guys are mass incest bread and many suffer from this ailment. We had to put him down and cried over it. As I was crying I thought, geeeze I'm soft.
  22. I hope that my post wasn't taking away from how awesome the build was. And I did talk with my local hobby shop and private, commissioned builds do fetch roughly that ball park. But if you look at the bidding history, it seems fishy, to me anyways. Take for example now, click on the link, another auction is going with the same odd feverish bid history days before the auction end. Started at ~$6 and now in a matter of a day its ~$390.
  23. Well, I caught the same bidder buying this re posted auction I was following several times. They would bid several times a day driving up the price even though it had a week to go. So the higher then normal price now has precedence and ppl then think its a normal price. Just keeps your wits about you and if it smells funny, well then it is. And this auction smells way too funny.
