  1. Actually, if you compare them side by side you will see that only the roof and door skins were the same. All the rest of the sheetmetal was altered from '63 to '64. A lot more than just new front and rear ends ,, not to mention a different interior. But, Yes, definitly would like to see the '64 back. I cant think of anything it could have been modded into.
  2. What's the windshield from? Maybe someone here would have one they could trade to you or maybe even give you.
  3. I think the only way to go would be get an earlier MPC Fox hatch and bash it with Revell's '90 notch. MPC DID make an '87 GT, which would be close but you'd still need the LX grille, tail lights, etc. I know the MPC '79 had a set of rear window louvres and a couple issued after had them too but I don't know how many. I don't think the "wild breed" or later ones had them. The Tamiya mid-'90s Cobra-R has a 5 bolt version of those wheels, maybe someone does them in resin?? Hopefully, someone else with more knowledge will chime in with more info.

Beautiful paint. I like the big Magnum 500s too.
  5. I have Louis on my e-mail contacts list and just fired an e-mail off to him. Last time I heard from him he had moved but hadn't set the plating equipment back up. I don't think he bothers with it any more but I hope I'm wrong.
  6. That's some nice conversion work. I used to own a 1/1 '78 Nova coupe, I didn't think the rooflines on the 2 door and 4 door were that close. Looks very correct.
  7. Not perfect but I can live with it. Scale Finishes Pontiac Meridian Turquoise with a slight pearl green/blue pearl midcoat and Testor's clear.
  8. Yea, I think I know what you mean.
  9. Guys, I'm pretty sure the engine in the Monogram Red Baron kit was tooled up with the rest of the kit and not cribbed from somewhere else. In fact, I'd bet my entire stash of show rods on it.
  10. If you're looking for the larger diameter "pro touring" style wheels I'd suggest looking at some of the larger scale die-casts. Some of them have huge wheels but the scale difference between the 1/16 and 1/18 diecasts might get you some wheels in a good size for the 1/16 scale kits.
  11. I'd think the engine from this kit would be a good place to start.
  12. I've been kinda thinking that myself.
  13. Here's the pic he was directing you to. You said "fenderless hot rod" in your post, you didn't specify "roadster"
  14. The front bumper and grille of the AMT kit has more pronounced "V" to it and possibly has more of a forward lean than it should. The original comparison article in Scale Auto back in the day said it had a bit of a "Buick" look to it and I agree with that statement. Other than that, it's a typical AMT kit of the day. I think the Revell kit just has a more crisp feel to it.
  15. Got a new knife set at the local shop. Just what I've been needing.
  16. Look like you could just use some sheet plastic .
  17. Wow, was it really that long ago ?? Time flies indeed ! As they say,,"Time flies like an arrow ,, fruit flies like a banana."
  18. It was released a few years ago but I don't think it's still in production. Reproduction decals for several of the versions were available form various aftermarket decal makers. The "KISS" and "A-Team" vans were AMT.
  19. Thanks Mike, it's '67 Mercury "lime frost poly" from Model Car World. It's not quite that green in person. It also has a black vinyl roof now and the windows and most of the foil work done.
  20. Actually, it's quite a stretch , more than a sheet of plastic. This is the AMT '67 Mustang chassis BTW. I really should get back on this Modelhaus resin one sometime soon. It has the AMT Mustang engine bay installed too.
  21. Apparently it was originally a Palmer but it was never released by them back then for some reason and never released until Lindberg got the molds in the '90s. It's cribbed off the AMT kit, almost an exact clone but imperfect. Like a clone with damaged DNA.
  22. Different kit Casey. That's thats 1/32 kit.
  23. IIRC, it was never released until Lindberg released it.
