Casey, could you please post a closeup of those 6 spoke wheels? I think I know what they might be.

So ,, re-boxed Pegasus Sovereign.

OK, I don't know much about Nascar , I take it this body style was ran for a few years then? It says in the press release above that it's a '78 and that they intend to also do Petty's '79 and Baker's '80 ,, the kit's a '76 though. Anyway, I'll leave mine you those of you who like that sort of thing. Now if it had of been a '76 or '77 street car I'd be in for a couple. But,,,

You are quite right Matthew , in spite of me double and triple checking my post I still got it backwards. LOL Here's a link to one of the best second gen T/A sites I've found. http://tran-zam.com/index.html

Casey, the diamond shaped mesh in the grille make the kit a '77. '78s had honeycomb shaped mesh in the grille. The 5 color bird was for the '78 solar gold Special Edition [check the side of your box] and was only available on that specific gold car until it became the standard bird design the next year.

The gallon of Honda Dyno blue pearl I bought to paint my T/A last summer was almost twice that. , , Over twice when you count in a gallon of reducer.

It's the ONLY 430 out there. The valve covers are dead on but the rest?,, maybe not so much. The 455 in the Monogram '70 GSX is really good if you don't mind the scale difference. But you'd have to sand the ribs off the valve covers and add new ones. Here's a couple shots to start you off,, ,,,, and a gratuitous pic of my old Riv. Unfortunatly this old Kodak 110 pic is the only one I have left of it.

Looks fantastic Randy. I plan to do mine very similar to yours. Gotta get some more decals from Keith soon. Is that Testors Hugger Orange?

Just incredible !

Um Dan , This is gonna freak you out a bit ,, I bought this one at NNL east about 10 years ago. Haven't got around to stripping it yet but ??

Monty, I used to have a 1/1 '69 Riv, I'm very familiar with them. Favorite car I've owned Aside from the engine, the '66 chassis and underhood area is correct for a '69. ,,Any Riv from '66 to '70 actually. You'll need the 430 from the '69 kit , the nailhead in the '66 was the last year for that engine. You should also add some headlights under the hood if you're going that far ,, and please ,, no amber on the front signals and cornering lights. LOL Yes, the Chevelle chassis is completely wrong for a 'Riv. Anything else about a '69 Riv, please just ask.

1/25 AMT '62 Pontiac Catalina Polyglas Gasser II

I figured they named the original what they did just because it rhymed. -
Sounds like you're trying to get it done in one coat? How about spraying on light coats and letting it dry between coats?

Snake. the wheels in the AMT '25 T kits are the Winfield wheels. Here's a couple pics from the "fruit wagon" issue, it has the same chrome tree as the coupe/roadster that was reissued often. Pics from the Drastic Plastic clubs Fotki page.

Speaking of wheels and tires, Most of the large diameter ones included in the "Resto Rods" serise looked pretty good, especially thier Torque Thrusts in the Mustang kits and the 3 rib Raders in the '66 Galaxie. [I could use another set or 2 of those if anyone has any to trade??] And the ones in the '66 Nova are dead ringers for some I see a lot on pickups around here. Nice thing is they're mostly self contained on seprate sprues and could be dropped in any kit that uses metal axels or similar small pin mounting systems.

Ya know Anthony, it's kinda too bad you've already started on this project. It would have been cool if you had kept this one the way it was and started with the fresh kit. That way you could have displayed them together as kind of a "then and now" display.

From the info I found, that grille and radiator was used on the '32 cars and '33 light trucks. But I can't find any pics that match the delivery body of the kit. '33 cars used a grille/radiator with a slight "V" to it and free standing headlights with no bar between them. Also note the "skirted" fenders similar to a '33/'34 Ford.

1/25 MPC '86 Chevy El Camino & Trail Bike
Can-Con replied to Casey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
They do tend to get a bit hard to keep track of when they quit putting the year on the box. But, I agree, a stock front end would have been better for most cases. Easier to do a work truck out of it that way. -

The RLB was the '82 annual Luc. It was the last Elcamino annual kit.
