1/8 scale Weber sidedrafts?
chassisdude replied to jbwelda's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thats looking good. Not hijacking your thread but here are some pics that you asked about .I used a Muncie on mine...There were no bell housings available at the time so a friend from TDR hooked me up with a proto type.. I believe the now have bell housings available but the Shapways site is not very user friendly in that you cant search for a specific part very well..If you visit TDR's FB page and ask Tim or Don to help you find out if they have them at Shapeways...They have the big offy 252 cui available now as well -

Here are the side draft stacks for the webbers in 1/8TH....If you want a little more "real" looking pieces try flaring some small aluminum tubing from the hobby shop.. might be surprised.... http://www.shapeways.com/product/PVVX26HMF/1-8-weber-side-draft-velocity-stacks?li=shop-results&optionId=14908828 -

What engine are you using these on? TDR does sell the velocity stacks for these short and tall..they also sell a manifolds for the BBC and SBC for these as well..If its something out of the ordinary then might have to scratch build something... -

It has a learning curve for sure..Im a fabricator and welder by trade so I had an advantage but is not difficult..The bending of the tube is the biggest challenge and you will have to do some creative clamping ..Like anything just takes practice ... -
Ive been working on this off and on for about a year..The chassis is based on a 220" wheel base.. Its an old school new/ school build...old school power and a few modern upgrades...The engine is a "Big John " Hockney resin "Lincolnstein" V-12 with Ardun heads and fuel injection, scratch built the oil pan, dual mag set up, fuel pump and zoomies..TDR supplied the 9" and lenco as well as the clutch can and rear brakes .. Ive ordered some ET's from Micro Nitro and they should be here in a few weeks.. The body is fiberglass and is currently being puttied and shaped and should be in primer in about a week...It measures just a tick under 32" long.. Im hoping to get hot and heavy on this soon (gotta get over this crud first) ..Hope to complete it by May of this year...
