  1. The cap looks awesome. Amazing what weathering can do. Grille looks great too chris, nice work
  2. Wow chris. Loving it. Just purchased a house so im trying to get my model bench all set up so i can get cracking on my altered, these pictures of ur progress are making me super keen to get something done on mine. Nice work mate, looking forward to the next update
  3. Will be onto it again soon, just bought a house so time has been limited last few weeks and possibly the next few too
  4. Unfortunately i lost all motivation with the funny car so i purchased a comp resins altered body and its now become this.
  5. Chris that is unreal!!! The final product is so close now, you must be proud of what u have achieved. Real credit to u. The blower belt is something special, looks so right with the weathering.
  6. Thanks guys. the pre built chassis has 'milestone' on the bottom. So unsure exactly. And yes i think itll look great, going to take a little work tho
  7. Well small update as ive been flat out lately and not alot of bench time. However i did get half an hour the other day and i used it to complete the top injection lines. will have the furrel fittings from teds site when i put them in for final assemble. Should be able to get the bottom ones completed tonight im hoping to get out there for a litte bit. Thanks for looking.
  8. Love it Chris. Is this possibly the home stretch? unreal job as always.
  9. Well i received my other chassis the other day, i was hoping for that to be a quick build inbetween everything, seems i am wrong haha it came with the 23 altered MOB body from competition resins. Mounted up the puke tank, unsure if that will be its final position, ill play with that idea more when i get to framing the rear of the chassis out and have to body mounted etc. Also gave it a go at making the oil (pump?) not too bad, may try to refine that one day tho. It really is working nicely just trying to get a small job ticked off when i do get a little bench time, rather than being a mad man trying to get a large quantity of work done in little time. Thanks for looking, Brent
  10. Cool. Can u link me to ur build so i can have a look? I made up a mount other night for the tank up front. Ill put a picture up when i get home later on. Some reason im liking it, still undecided tho.
  11. Nice Chris. Loving this even more the further it comes along. Unreal!
  12. Ahh yes i see. Just feel there isnt much room under the back of the body, i havent got to frame for the rear etc yet tho.
  13. Thanks Bob, not a nad idea, ill have to make myself a list up and follow that. Thanks Michael, thats something to have a think about.
  14. Thanks Gene Well tonight i cut down the rear motor plate, front of body was sitting a little too high for my liking and i also secured the engine down, (gotta re-do 2 brackets on the back yet) Played with this idea of mounting a puke tank up front, Thoughts? Made from an old dead Sharpie permanent marker haha
  15. Wow chris! Detail is insane. Send me some of the linkage's yeah? ? haha only jokin. cant wait to see it done, dont rush it now tho.
  16. Thanks Chris. Yes ill give that a go, bit by bit. And break the car up, finish upto the rear motor plate, then cockpit then rear end. Might help me abit. Also just ordered some Weld V series front and Delta 1 rears from Micro Nitro in black anodized with detail, going to be a painful wait as i cant wait to see them!
  17. Thanks for the feedback guys, will be sure to keep this updated as the progress rolls on, Just trying to get my bearing right, bit overwhelming when u look at the amount of work left to do, and only so many hours in a day free to chip away at this project. Wanting to drill out all the bolt heads and replace them with scale hardware items.
  18. Hello all, Was doing the 1/16 Hawaiian build but lost my motivation with it, wasn't really loving the body style of it either so i purchased a Competition Resins 23t Altered body. When i first received the body i plonked it on to get a feel, yea i love it! First little job i then tackled was the breathers, thinking now im going to run them into a tank that ill mount between motor and fuel tank area. Decided to try my hand with soldering, made up the barrel valve for up top, still need to made up the linkage to connect it to the butterflys. Made up some oil filters and a mount for them, and thats where i am at this point, drilled out the fuel tank and oil tank next to it. Connected the fuel tank to the pump. Pretty happy so far with how its looking, can not wait to finish it. Thoroughly impressed with the RB motion fittings, using the Pro Tech braid in them.
  19. Far out Chris!! Really that is unreal, great detail in the weathering, not too much, just enough. The body is a comp resins body, awesome body at that. i will start a thread of it soon
  20. WOW Chris. Thats awesome mate. So good to see this build progressing. My funny car build has turned into a 23t altered build, the funny car just wasnt doin it for me.
  21. Well its been a very long time between updates, but the work has been continuing slowly. Pretty well finished with the trans at this stage, few more details toward the end of the build and it will be done. Followed the kit trans just made the parts slightly better. How it sits, all mocked up with no body. Alot more to go at this stage, hoping to get some knocked off over the Christmas break. Started on the body tins, was absolutely dreading this part of the build, however a few pieces of cardboard for templates sure did make it alot easier. Hopefully these will be done soon. Also chasing some reference pics for the accelerator cable, as to how it attaches to the pedal. and some pics for the fire system. Cheers Brent
  22. Wild! Better and better, and its always good when the job you have been putting off cos it looks like it will be a pain in the ass turns out to be a breeze.
  23. Chris, great to see some updates, getting me motivated now too lol. Ill have to update mine soon, just had a holiday over your side of the world, managed to catch friday of the nhra nationals in pomona whilst there too, that helped with motivation too lol
