  1. ok just finished up this car. not bad for my 1st police car and 2nd car with lights. Now i just need more money to make another one
  2. I just bought this model and got a free set of wigwag head and tail lights. I bough some flashing LEDS that should be here tommorow and wigwag next week.
  3. i did use some foil, not enough tho. Iv never done this so next car will be better, i just ordered a 1/18 motormax police car and police leds, i will post that here also.
  4. Well this one is done, i like it and lots i will do different next, i will keep uploading stuff and questions on this thread too.
  5. I found it out now the LEDS i was looking at for a police car have resistors soldered into it. This makes it work on a 9v battery and balances out the red only working. I'm slowly getting this figured out!
  6. so it sounds like i need to move to 9v and get some resistors? I was thinking of picking these up and maybe doing a police car. http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/dcflasher.html#_ga=1.94039390.2145493355.1476926055
  7. dude im like 14, i do other things than play video game like other people my age.Il read up on that. Thanks
  8. The yellows and reds are the ones that work ALL the time, i could have a white or blue hooked to the battery then hok up a yellow or red then the yellow or red works and the blue or white shuts off. Im using a 3v battery on 3v LEDS
  9. Hello everyone! So i have been wanting to put leds in my model cars and i have done this before. BUT i have done 2 circuits (yes 2 batteries 2 switches) . I have done this because i was using 2 3mm white LEDS in the front and 2 3mm red LEDS in the back. When i hook them up in a series and parallel circuit and the red LEDS are the only ones that work. The white ones just shut off why does it do this? It would be very nice if someone could make me a wiring diagram for this list. 2 - 5mm red LEDS 2 - 3mm yellow LEDS 2 - 5mm white LEDS 1 - 3mm yellow LED
  10. iv done a car before with 10 LED's and i had a big switch and battery pack outside the car and this one im putting all that in the car. I have the switch mounted now, this is the car im doing, http://www.musclecardrive.com/images/specs_pics/1971_Cuda_vcode.jpg I have done the car and now doing prep work for the lights and i hope they get here today. Il look at the links.
  11. Hello, this is my first time on this forum. I need some help with my LED's. I bought these http://www.amazon.com/Assorted-Clear-Emitting-Diodes-Colors/dp/B00UWBJM0Q/ref=pd_sim_328_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=512z0orjIKL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0321CPSX3XY43G4BN29F LED's they are 2.0-2.2 volt LED's and there Current is 20mA. I was planning to put 13 or 15 LED's in this 1:24 scale car. I want to know what battery voltage i can use. I am NOT using resisters and im not buying any. I want to know if i can use 2 AAA or a 3v watch battery or a 9v, i want to make the lights bright but i don't want them to blow up. If someone can draw me up a diagram with no resistors and 13 or 15 2.0-2.2 volt LED's i would love that, or just what kind of battery i can use for 13 or 15 LED's. I went through a program and got For: 3v bettery 2 diode forward voltage 20 (mA) and 15 LED's The wizard says: In solution 0: each 56 ohm resistor dissipates 22.4 mW the wizard thinks 1/4W resistors are fine for your application together, all resistors dissipate 336 mW together, the diodes dissipate 600 mW total power dissipated by the array is 936 mW the array draws current of 300 mA from the source.
