Looks nice from here!
:-)

Oooooooooh... that looks niiiiiice... gonna have to sell off a few more kits to afford one, though! ?

Thought of this thread once again: https://larzanderson.org/museumevents/communityhistory/ (Jan 30th event)
?

Gotchya! Gave me an excuse to look through my photo-files, though... sometimes I forget what is in them! :-) Good luck with the build.
-
oh HEY I found one more for you... still a coupe, though...
-
Arg... so now Panteras are being hacked up for customs? (sigh)...
Can you use any of these photos? I thought I had more engine bay shots... must remember that come car-show season! ?

I got $85.00 for mine (along with a small sheet of etch) on Ebay, so YES you got a deal!
MIKE999 - have you ever built one of those MPC Dodge's? I did years ago and you may want to see if more correct wheels are still available via aftermarket. The kit ones are silly-deep.

KEY WORD: "should" ?
Just kidding!

I haven't opened it yet. Did just read that the Revell Germany version supposedly has better decals and instruction sheet (ooooops). Since I haven't built in a while I don't feel like trying that paint scheme, so I am thinking THIS ONE:
... but again, the price of these decal sheets is NUTS!!
-
Now I realize I want to get aftermarket decals... and they cost as much as the model kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Is that the Protar one?
-
I wish I had taken more photos of it so I could share, but you look like you know EXACTLY what you are doing! ?
-
Body-paint... the part I hate the most... seems SOMETHING always has to go wrong...
?
At least you are sticking with it and not yelling and throwing the whole project in the trash!

Reminds me of the Cord at the Collings Foundation here in MA... same but different! ?

Rustoleum has caused issues for my boyfriend through the years, and that's on REAL auto parts! ? It supposedly doesn't play well with other paints, either under or over itself.
The "oleum" in the name is interesting:
QuoteRust-Oleum is a manufacturer of protective paints and coatings for home and industrial use. It was founded in 1921 by Robert Fergusson, a sea captain, after he noticed that fish oil spilled on rusty metal decks stopped corrosion from spreading. He soon incorporated whale oil into the formula, although many changes have been made over the years. Rust-Oleum products no longer contain whale oil, instead using resins derived from Alkyds, polyurethanes, epoxies, latex, etc.
Quoteoleum[ˈōlēəm]NOUN-
a dense, corrosive liquid consisting of concentrated sulfuric acid containing excess sulfur trioxide in solution.

I love the roof! Does that come with the kit or did you make it yourself?
Oh, and does that model measure like 2" long? ?

WHAT IRKED ME TODAY: driving to & from a particular Boston hospital... dropped off, later picked up my boyfriend in there.
I decided to reset his odometer (that's right, I told him I was using HIS gas this time) and from the house to the hospital, 7.1 miles. Picking him up (while illegally parked) took less than 5 minutes. Then 7.1 miles back home. Took us a hair over an hour to go 14 miles. The REALLY slow traffic was juuuuuust kicking in about 2 miles from home, at a whopping 3:15PM..............
... if I was good at math I would average my MPH out... and other than the very end it was a "quick" drive.
SIDE NOTE: about 1/4 of that ride is the same as going to/from our mechanic, and that ride has taken us 90 minutes... to go LESS than 7.1 miles...
MORAL OF THE STORY: if you are thinking of moving to the Boston area for work or school, you better have a LOT of patience because every year traffic gets worse and worse... oh, and so do the drivers...

Sold a few kits to fund purchase of the Revell Ford GT and Tamiya Ford GT... also picked up this little guy for possible future project... haven't built in a long time, so we shall see...
-
Hmmmmm.......
Maybe I should just pay Casey to do it for me! ?
-
If I go through with it, it would be making a set of wheels, possibly with tires on them... So I may have to make two mold halves, with channels to pour in resin. Not totally sure yet.
I tried it a long time ago with very mixed results, though I was using clear resin and I think that was a mistake. I also remember only making a one-side mold for some items.
Here are two photos from 2002:

REAR DIFF = OOOOPSIE! ?
Amazing patience with the doors

Was thinking of selling my kit, but now that I see it built here, I may keep it after all! Can anyone elaborate on why it is a difficult build?

You added decals?
You mean on the air cleaner? I honestly do not remember, it has been so long! ? Are yours from the decal sheet or self-printed?

I don't know much about McLarens, so I looked for a 1:1 pic of your build:
