Thanks so much! If you or anyone else would like to use my rhino liner technique it’s just black textured paint from rustoleum! You can adjust your texture amount with spray distance. A close wet coat gives a heavy larger texture like in the bed. A far away multiple light coat gives a super fine texture which I use for carpet instead of flocking. You can kind of see it being used as carpet in this interior picture.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Sadly I forgot to take pictures of the engine bay before I gave it to him… I’ll see if I can get him to shoot me a photo of it! It’s just a regular ol 350 v8 with customs solder headers I made.

Hello all! I browse this forum often and absolutely love it but it’s been a hot second since I’ve posted anything. Going to try to become a more active member by starting off with one of my recent completed builds! This was built to replicate a friend’s car as a gift using an MPC red light bandit El Camino. It pained me to modify such a rare kit but I’d say the end result was worth it since he was very happy with it. Paint is Tamiya TS-50 mica blue with spraymax 2k clear. Wheels are from a z28 Camaro and I scratch built the phantom grill, cowl hood, roll pan bumpers, and SS steering wheel. Dash is the standard El Camino one that is modified with sheet styrene to look like an g-body 84 Grand Prix dash. Thanks for looking!

Lamborghini Countach Twin Turbo
LotusGuy238 replied to LotusGuy238's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
No the flares are already on the body and correct. I just have to fab the side skirts. -
For my next project I have decided to convert my 1/24 Revell Lamborghini Countach into the twin turbo concept. The only problem I have is the side skirts. I have tried a few things to attempt to create them with no avail. Any idea on what I could do to create these? Thanks, Evans

Yes they did! The wire wheels that came with the kit were awful. I recieved the wire wheels and tires from a meme bed here on the forum. They are from the Tamiya Jaguar MK2 Saloon.

I didnt really see a way to modify the mounting points but I'm sure if you spend a little time on it you could figure something out. Honestly I think your best bet with the kit is to use a two part epoxy and rig up a way to hold the body to the chassis. That's what I did and it worked quite well.

I didn't even notice the mirrors. Thanks for the tip I'll have to do it.

It is tamiya spray lacquer. I believe the number is ts-58.

This is a kit from fujimi. I added a few period correct accessories to the car to make it look more custom. I added new wheels, antenna, and made a bigger exhaust from aluminum tubing. This is probably one of my favorite builds I’ve done so far. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks, Evans

I accuired this kit from a friend. It is an Aoshima model. It is a simple kit and looks good done. I added the sleepy eyes to make it look a little different. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks, Evans

The is the revell of Germany version of this kit. I’m not a real big fan of this car but it still is a great looking vehicle. I tried my best to make this model as detailed as possible. I don’t know how the color combo goes together but I think it works. The only problem with this model is fitting the body to the chassis. It has terrible fitment but if you manage to hold it together long enough and use a little jb weld it hold well. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Evans

This is the original issue of this model I picked up at the Concours de Elegance at Amelia Island for a good price. This is a very cool and detailed model for it to be so old. Obviously fitment wasn’t too great but it came out nice in the end. I love the color I chose. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Evans

This is the enthusiast model of the 911 Turbo from fujimi. Overall fitment isn’t too great but if you are patient you can really make a good looking detailed model of this awesome car. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks, Evans

This is the snap-tire version of the 2017 Ford GT from Revell. For being such a simple kit, this model was actually really detailed. I’m looking forward to the release of the full detail kit from Tamiya. I have more photos that I’ll try to upload later because it’s not letting me upload them. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Evans

This is my Porsche 918 Spyder from revell. I purchased wheels from Plasmo to convert this car into the Weissach package version of the car. Overall I thought this was a good kit and enjoyed building it. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks, Evans

Hello everyone, I have been posting progress about models and haven’t posted finished products. Finally I have gotten time to photograph all of them and post them. First up is this tamiya Ferrari F40. I got this model for 4.99 at a car show and it was missing wheels and a few other miscellaneous parts. I decided to try and dim the wheels for the LM version of this car and thanks to the wanted section I found them. I then scratch built the rest of the things needed for the conversion like the exhaust and rear spoiler and interior details. After fighting lots of body figment issues I completed the model. I think it turned out pretty well. Let me know what you guys think. thanks, Evans

Enter 1/16 Porsche 924
LotusGuy238 replied to Billschneider64's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have the Bandai 1/16 Porsche 924 in an open box if anyone wants detailed pictures of what is inside. -
The good news is that a dremel tool and a heat gun worked wonders. I got my kit to fit very nicely in the end. Will be posting pictures ASAP.

Hi all, I'm almost done with this build but I wanted to post it under this topic anyways. This is the Revell of Germany version of the kit. The moldings are really good for an older Revell kit and most of the parts are very detailed. I have discovered a huge figment issue with the body and chassis. The wheel well also fit terrible and I believe this is the cause for the poor body fitment. I'll post the final picture in the "Under Glass" section along with my custom F40 LM I built. All positive and negative comments are welcome on my work. Anyways here's my progress so far. Evans

Thanks for the info. That's a good price I'll check it out. I might have to become the owner of one of these kits.
-
I haven't seen them either. I may try to find on of those kits that has been started or has some parts missing. If not I'll just have to make them. If I can successfully make them I'll just make resin copies.

Would you have any idea where I could just purchase the wheels?
