Magic Muffler You did a great job on what was once my neighbor's (Mahnken) car when I lived in Azusa. Your historical accounting was correct, the owners got tired of running a fuel car for peanuts so the installation of a Mustang shell earned 4 times the payout. The driver, Larry barker, built that chassis. They ran it until early 1969, whereupon it was sold to an Aussie, sans motor. The Aussie plopped a 392 in it and crashed it on its maiden voyage because of chute failure. The car originally ran 427 Ford wedge, then SOHC heads were installed. The car's two greatest accomplishments were it's winning 1967 Hot Rod Magazine Championships and in early '69, beating Danny Ongais in Mickey Thompson's blue Mach 1 at an OCIR race . Oh, as a Fiat bodied altered, it won the UDRA altered point chase in 1965. In fact it continued to run a few times in local 8 car open AA/FA events too. Again I applaud modeling efforts.
