  1. I do all of my lines from memory, I've relined a lot of trucks in my career so it's easy for me, here's some system diagrams to help you
  2. sorry pat I thought I wrote you back! Oops! Well I think it really depends on where you live because I've heard a jeep be called a few different names but up here in the pacific northwest a jeep is in front of the lowboy and takes the load and a stinger or dog(dogleg) is be hind the low boy
  3. Made some good progress tonight after I put my new shelves together for my stash, here's a closeup of the dash. The interior is about 10% done, frame is plumed and will be ready for paint after I finish the lowboy ramps
  4. Got some more work done on the VIT interior
  5. Got a little more work done on the interior tonight
  6. Thank you ray, have a lot planned for this one! FYI if you didn't hear already the ROG k100 VIT is getting released fourth quarter this year but it's the dual drive
  7. Haven't made a ton of progress it's been triple digits around here all week and after I get home from turning wrenches on 1:1 rigs the motivation just isn't there, started running air lines and got the 475 put together, still have to plumb it and add a light wash to it. Started on the interior as well
  8. Jeff: the jeep along with the pusher behind the low boy are exactly that, weight distribution. The jeep takes most of the pin load leaving the tractor tasked with moving the rolling weight. In a application like this the tri drive is more for traction under heavy load, it's much easier to transmit 1500+ ft lbs through 3 ring gears with two power dividers rather than 2 ring gears with one power divider, the tag in its location in front of the drives would take weight off the front axle and help keep the drive axles from slipping
  9. It's gonna be a lengthy build lots of modifying going on with this one, here's the wheel end mock up
  10. will do! I go to Winchester bay pretty often, love the area up there. I grew up in crescent city and miss the coast pretty bad.
  11. thanks! The base took about 15 minutes to make lol it's a cheap display board I found at a yard sale, lightly sanded with a thick coat of red mahogany varnish I let sit for 5 minutes and rubbed of followed by 4 coats of urethane clear. The ground cover is red dirt from my yard ran over the unmasked wet clear, after the excess was shook off I cleared the whole base again
  12. The log bunks and any other areas of high traffic are dry brushed with silver enamel, other areas are acrylic over clear coat and rubbed to the base coat , I usually use salt masks or Vaseline but this was a rushed build for his birthday and the acrylic is a faster process
  13. Jeep is almost ready for paint and detailing, still need to put the rest of the wheel ends together. Frame stretch is done frame is almost ready to start plumbing air lines and hydraulic lines
  14. Made some progress on the 3 axle jeep, good use of a lowboy kit
  15. Picked a color scheme for the tridrive, hope I can get started on this today
  16. The tridrive will be getting a stretch and a scratchbuilt tag axle added, haven't decided on a color scheme yet but I'm afraid of the kit decals being too far gone to use so I'll probably tape off some stripes for it
  17. Starting my new project, the ultra rare tridrive and a kit bashed lowboy for the pay hauler, wheels and tire will be a mix of moebius and italeri
  18. Calling this build done for now, wish I had not been so rushed on it but the father in law loved it and it will look good on his shelf, but not good enough for mine
  19. Getting close to calling this done, not how I want it but I only have one day left for it, it will be good enough for his shelf but too many things i had to rush a little on
  20. Made a little more progress, don't know why the mud looks so glossy in the pics, I think it's my led desk light that is changing it
