Great job! The Cuda guys may disagree but I think the Superbird was the pinnacle point of the Sox and Martin team. You executed it beautifully

Thanks guys, appreciate the nice comments! 😊👍

I read somewhere that they originally had plans to tool other bodies to fit this chassis possibly Camaro and nova. It would be a really good move for round 2 to do this. By the way you did a fine job on this one the color is spot on.

Thank you! Yes I was thinking it would be too dark but it actually looks really good.

Finicky eh? Great, something to look forward to since I have a sealed kit to do. Yours came out pretty darn good to me!!!

Well the engine went together well, I’ll say that. And yes I’m very happy with the results, it turned out pretty darn nice. Realized I never got the steering linkage installed before these pics lol, but it’s on now. Test fit the body tins thoroughly, you may have to trim the rear one a bit like I did, to get the body to close down over the frame 👍

I thought that I had previously commented on this build. I didn't, but I HAVE to! Super nice build. Extremely clean and well executed! Hope to see more.

Thanks guys! It was fun to do, I’ve always liked the JoHan kits even as simplistic as they are. I need to build the other one that he gave me for building this one for him. It really does look cool and different in person👍👍

You overcame the obstacles these kits have really well.  They do look great when completed, yours is no exception.  I wrestled this kit to completion several years back and have a number of others to build, but have yet to get the ambition to start another one lol.

Thank you guys! Yes it was a tricky build for sure Bogger. It’ll be a while before I tackle another but they do look great when done and they do offer a neat assortment of cars. I think the main difficulty is the vague instructions that require you to do a lot of test fittings and guessing. My main disappointment was the terribly molded body.

Very nice!!  I think I've built at least one of every Polar Lights funny car released.  The frames were all a PITA, and the decals were extremely fragile, but with patience and perseverance they build in t a very respectable model.  You did an excellent job on this one!

    Looks great!

Thanks so much guys! Yes the frame was tricky, and the decals were stressful lol. The worst part of the job was getting the tins installed and lined up inside the body! I almost quit, but walked away from it for a couple days and tried again then 👍

  7. Hi all…finished up Polar Lights’ Don Schumacher FC today. This is the first Polar Lights kit I’ve done and it was a handful to get thru. Tons of fitment issues and poor molding to deal with but it’s a great looking car when done. The body required a ton of prep, it was a mess with bad lines, sink marks etc. I was surprised at how bad it was out of the box. Nevertheless it’s done and I’m very happy with it! Paint is Tamiya TS54 and TS13 clear over those finicky decals which actually came out pretty darn good with a lot of solution. Added plug wires and a couple of fuel lines for fun. I used the polished 5 spokes up front simply because I like the way they look. Thanks for looking and let me know what you think! 👍👍8FE879B3-C77A-4E89-9AEC-7BA19536A067.thumb.jpeg.d1314e728ad3c6b5e3acdcdb51a77ddb.jpegBADA2821-4E8C-4E32-9F8C-254B85365A7A.thumb.jpeg.b80721568c8fc07f28e6b56afde8e06a.jpeg9723F2B1-E04E-48FF-8241-81C26CB1D65A.thumb.jpeg.9073c43137da9aa2981b734ff53abb0f.jpeg5E2AF63D-8D41-4B74-9F97-862B4E9F9987.thumb.jpeg.98c17c66dcf14baa904f0061c4588dce.jpegB4B1B687-66D6-4231-AF4B-94AB2BD4AF43.thumb.jpeg.3e0959c00e81720a0e5a80df9dd01002.jpegF92454F2-BF66-4271-85ED-651A259528F7.thumb.jpeg.9707ab548f1b8cf659a356d63ec95428.jpeg6AF906BE-617A-42D6-AAB0-A424E799F2AF.thumb.jpeg.d8b38df4383abbb94694e25bf8918d48.jpeg0543ED08-0AD5-4C2B-8402-80D9495B961D.thumb.jpeg.5dcc6e5e1ec82a16ca2fb279866748d4.jpeg61E8BADA-A217-4A5E-8E28-9136A13F2C1F.thumb.jpeg.1f71bad8376781339cb9110d22a3b92d.jpegD1B4C1BE-19B5-4B07-8EC1-C6E601E9AF04.thumb.jpeg.8b9c00a83752f0f31bbe21580d790565.jpeg5958A911-9837-4404-A00F-DF7CA0517E08.thumb.jpeg.3173a4968cad91b9bf3b54df5838aa95.jpegFD36CFC7-6F0A-4ABE-BFB4-7BFCD5413C25.thumb.jpeg.579daa1826a45136ceb0bd083e81e94e.jpeg

Thanks! Looking forward to seeing yours finished!

    Thank you!

    Thanks!

    Thank you!

    Thanks!

Thank you! It was only a few of the decals I had problems with cracking, those that I had cut the carrier film close to the color seemed to be the most affected. It took a lot of decal solution to get them to snuggle down and silvering was a problem with a few.

    Thanks!

Thank you! I'm happy Polar Lights created drag cars and NASCARs, but man I wish if they had sent test shots to builders, they would have found all the deficiencies in their kits, because they fill some empty voids. I know Round2 has the molds, but they usually don't reengineer existing kits, just repop them or add new parts and decals.

Thanks! I wasn't aware of a Don Nicholson Cuda FC, I thought his FCs were Comets and Cougars before switching to Pro Stock. Maybe Don Schumacher?

Yep Don Schumacher! Sorry, brain cramp 🤣🤣
