  1. I know I like it Might have to find me one of the Camaros just to get its wheels Did I start something with a stripe delete GT500 ?? lol

I actually made an attempt to do the stripes but when I tried to do the hood i couldnt get the wrinkles out around the air vents. I like how they look with out the stripes anyway.

  2. that looks nice! what color did you use from the one coat line? is it the black or the graphite dust? i like the dark red on the interior too, what did you use for that?

    Dave

The exterior color is blazing black. The interior is painted with some cheap paint that came from walmart

  3. This is just an out of box build except for the wheels (thanks revell for not including tires that will not fit the front wheels). The paint is Testors one coat blazing black over bare plastic and no clear coat.

  4. I finally have a 1.1 vehicle. Its a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 with about 55,000 miles on it. It use to belong to my grandparents and they only drove it when the went out of town. It started to get hard for my grandpa to park it so they bought an 08 colorado and sold this to me. It sucks that I dont have my license though :D

  5. WOW...AWESOME...MAN...I like that truck beautiful, really like the DURAMAX DIESEL logo's how did U do those/where did U get them? Engine is very good buld of a DURAMAX.

To make the decals I just searched for them on yahoo, copied them to microsoft word, resized them to scale, and printed them on decal paper.

  6. Got quite a bit of work done this time. Both the interior and the cab is finished is finished. the wheels are attached. now im trying to sand the orange peel off of the left side of the bed. here are some mock up pics. sorry about the bad pics, they were taken with my cell phone

  7. Okay... Not being mean, at all. read on.

But it doesn't look like a Duramax to me. Of course I'm extremely bias because I used to work for DMax in Moraine OH. So that's why it doesn't look like it to me. lol. The 6.6 is a huge imposing hunk of iron when you see it. Makes the 5.3 look tiny. But hey, since there isn't a 6.6 Dura out there, good work using your imagination and available items! Nobody else will notice unless you've seen it going down the production line.

*note, not being critical at all, more of just light hearted humor, in case it wasn't obvious*

Its cool, I know it doesnt look like a 6.6. I changed my plan from making it look like a 6.6 to making it look like a smaller diesel V8, sortof like GM's 4.5 duramax. I'm thinking of putting something like 5.3 Duramax on the engine cover.

  8. Got some more work done on the truck. I'm almost done with the chassis except for the exhaust and the wheels, which I have finally picked out a set for it. I wasn't planning on getting wheels this big but i like 'em. I also enlarged the lower section of the grille due to a dremel tool accident. I think it turned out pretty good though.

  9. Well actually Chevy successfully converted a 4.3L Gas V6 into a Diesel V6, after Oldsmobile went rounds with their Diesel Converted Olds 350's.... Chevy had learned alot from Olds' mistakes, and was able to refine their Diesel Conversion attempts..... Oldsmobile was the only one to attempt a Diesel V8 Conversion, and the rest of the GM Brands had Olds Diesel Engines placed between their framerails..... Technically you could use any 1960's-1970's Oldsmobile V8 that was kitted, and visually convert it into a Diesel.....

Now that would be cool if they kitted a diesel V6. I wouldnt care if it was the engine alone, i could find something to put it in.

And I wonder why they havent kitted any diesel trucks

  10. This is a project i started pretty recently. Its a Silverado 1500 that im trying to make it to a 2500 with a diesel engine. The hardest part is trying to make the engine look like a legitemate Duramax diesel which started out as the 5.3 gas engine that came with the kit and i added a turbo on to the top of the intake, bent some plastic to connect the exhaust manifolds to the turbo and i shaved the coil packs off of the valve covers. here are some pics

  11. The wheels were a very easy swap. For the rears, I cut an aluminum sleave to fit inside the wheel, which allowed them to slide right onto the mustangs axle. The front ones were a little more involved. First I cut the nubs off of the brakes. I then slid the brakes onto the wheels then ground down the wheels mounting nubs flush with the brakes. After cutting off the mounting pins from the spindels, I glued the wheels to the spindels.

    Thanks

I've never built one of these new mustangs. Is it very easy to lower them?

  12. cool video, thanks for the link!

i have had one of the speedster kits stashed away for a really long time wanting to convert it to a coupe but never had the ability to do the body work or the guts to take on the conversion. these are some really cool and unique Corvette's and for some reason seem to be looked over by many.

    hmmm thats a good idea..........
