    Stunning paint. Really nice.
  2. Yep, I've got some half round stock that I will use and sand down to til its the same shape. Thanks.
  3. The door lines aren't really the issue so much as the door details in the area of the cuts. Yes, it is!
  4. How did you do the surf board graphics? I all looks great!
  5. Excellent graphics. What did you use?
  6. Thanks. I'm going to get my needle files out today and see if I can't restore the window lines. I've no plans to rat rod this and cover the issues with rust and what not. I'm going to try for a bare metal look, so I want it to be as perfect as I can get it. Wish me luck.
  7. Thanks guys. More soon.
  8. Decals. In a couple of days I'll do a coat of flat clear and final assembly.
  9. This why I really don't enjoy chopping a top. Door and character lines lost in the process. Lots to clean up still. Since the rear of the chassis will be bare, I got my trusty jewelers saw out and went to work. I understand that on their own those tabs would not support the chassis. I'll be adding a cross bar and join it with the rear support which will also support the gas tank. I'm also kicking around using these wheels as well. More soon.
  10. Thanks Dave. Groovy was what I was shooting for.
  11. Here it is post-chop. A bit over 1/8 inch. Removed the drip rail as well. Lots of clean up to do. More soon.
  12. No idea who drew it, Bill or where I got it. I just sort of collect images from FB or the HAMB or wherever. If something is cool and can be built from a model it goes in the "inspiration" folder and I pull one out now and again. It will be chopped. At least 1/8" coming out. Stay tuned.
  13. Wheels are tires are still up in the air. Maybe just some old school chrome wheels with baby moons to keep the smooth look but still be classic.
  14. Here's the kit. Here's the start. I think this model is very doable without much chassis modification. I'll try to get it a few mils lower. I'll use the 302 with some old school parts to give it a vintage look. No decisions on finish yet but I'm thinking of about bare metal. I'm also wondering about a top chop. I'd value any opinions. As always any comments or criticisms are kindly welcome.
  15. I've been thinking about this too. What are you planning for the tree? Something from a model rail road?
  16. After washing the parts, like Robin mentioned (a soak in mild dishwashing liquid and water will do, air dry) then the parts need to be cleaned of mold lines, flash and ejector pin marks left over from manufacturing. A good hobby knife and some sanding sticks from your local beauty supply store (nail care) are your tools.
  17. Wow. There is no way I could have done that so cleanly.
  18. That's some super clean work. I dig it.
  19. Very sharp work. I like it a lot.
  20. That is wicked! Very original and top notch building.
  21. I like it! My favorite muscle car, very well done. Great detailing.
  22. Great story and a great build. One of my favorite kits.
  23. Looking forward to this. I did an AMT '34 Ford pick-up with the Ardun from the '50 and it worked out great.
  24. That's my kinda hot rod. Looks fantastic.
  25. Looks great! Don't change a thing.
